Topdog
I was trying to dig out an old tree stump from the garden, which had been there for a few years and Val wanted to plant more stuff there. After a couple of hours digging and chopping roots I thought it was going to move - NO CHANCE. Amswer, put a strop round the stump and throw a rope over the hedge into next doors garden where there is vehicle access. Tie rope to the front of the Ferret and select reverse. Go back for a stronger piece of strop and try again. Shows the stump out of the hole. Shows the route of the rope over the hedge Shows the damage to the front towing eye where it pulled the weld apart. Whats the easiest way to fix this? Bend it and weld it or put a new peice on? Tony B
Not to mention the poor old thing bouncing up and down as the rope went tight. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0R1JOcl0VlA This is how it should be done!.

mcspool
At least in a Ferret you have some protection when pulling over trees like this: Edited June 22, 2010 by mcspool

Tony B
If brains were dinamite he wouldnt have enough to blow his hat off. Alan. Hope not, he might have tried explosive on the tree. A similar thing happned to me some many years ago. The owner of a brand new Land Rover safari didn't like a kid of about thirteen asking if he thought the rope was to short. A two hundred year old Oak tree does have some weight in it. :cool2:
R Cubed
Trees are not to be underestimated, they are tough old things. Thats why they stay standing up in high winds, generally.
Grasshopper
My ferret came with a pre-broken one of them. We're just going to bash it back into place and weld it up. That is only mild steel (apparently).
