Ed Batchelor
Where I used to work on a farm there was the remains of an old Jeep which had been converted into a water bowser rather crudely. This involved removing all bodywork and front axle, strapping a water tank on and attaching a drawbar to the front.... This was all done many many years ago after the jeep itself had become defunct. I last saw it disappearing into the hedgerow about 5yrs ago, it may still be there but a lot changes in 5yrs. I was told by the gamekeeper that it was a demobed ww2 jeep which was bought for use on the farm and superceeded by a succession of landrovers. Not being an expert no idea if it was definately ww2 era, certainly wasnt a landrover chassis! Is it worth investigating, would anyone rebuild the bare remains and is it worth any more than scrap (or less!)

Ed Batchelor
Dont want to reveal its location as the landowner wouldnt thank me for it! Next time I'm that way I will make some enquiries to see if it is still about. Shame I never took a photo, didint have a digital camera back then! Rick W
All I had to start my jeep "project" was a chassis with a few rusty body panels that had been sitting in a ditch somewhere in E.Anglia!
Enigma
The chassis may still be good with the odd bits attached still usable maybe? Checking it out would confirm.
