Reminds me of a picture I once saw on ARRSE (IIRC) where a guy had fitted a pair of Doctor Who curtains to the back of his Spartan so that when you looked "in" it was bigger on the inside than on the outside.

We have , over the years , done quite a lot of work for an artist (sadly now no longer with us ) and his wife an artist and picture restorer in her own right . In the corner of one of their studios on an end wall was a piece of trompe l'oeil which featured a very large black gentleman looking out from behind a curtain . It didn't matter how many times we worked in there over the years , we would forget he was there and the first time we caught sight of him it would scare the crap out of us . :-D
