Just been watching a Coast programme which featured the Faroe ilse a mentioned was made of the British occupation during WW2. they showed a restored Bedford QL now is this from the Faroe,s or was shipped out for the programme to emphasise the point of the British involvement. It was also mentioned that when the Army left they left around 300 military vehicles for the locals to use as transport now do any of these survive in one way or another bearing in mind the weather would not have been on the vehicles side and are some still in use out there, some interesting points here i wonder what awnsers we will get

cheers

Les,

The QL in that programme had Faroes registration number on it. Also it was an early one, noted by a slight difference in the rad grille. Not common on existing ones over here. So I think it was a local one.

My wife is from the Faroe Islands and she has never seen any British MV's there. Probably not many left - it is a harsh environment because of the salt in the air.
