  1. Selling for a friend Due to a purchase of a bigger tent these 2 have become available dims 9' long x 7' wide x 6'3" at the ridge - Told its a 4 man tent but more like 2 man if you both have cots and want to get in and out of it. Each has 1 Canvas 4 x 3 Peice Poles - guy ropes and pegs in a kit style bag They do not have storm straps 1 is described as "very" good and is almost like new £175 2 is described as good has been used a little more as it is easier to erect as the material is not as stiff £160 Should you want to know what they are like a search on "7ft x 9ft ridge tent" will show you may do a deal for the pair £300
  2. I have for sale an Army GS universal marquee. Not sure on length but there is three central long poles with numerous side poles and wall sections that are dated in the 50s and 80s plus the roof and pegs. It is sold as seen as i don't have the ability to put up and can deliver for a fee as access to where its stored is an issue. Please feel free to make an offer - everything sensible considered. Located in Surrey so delivery for around 50miles radius would be around £80 as need to locate a vehicle.... IMG_6788.HEIC IMG_6789.HEIC IMG_6790.HEIC IMG_6791.HEIC IMG_6792.HEIC
  3. Used a few times with my old Militant and now for sale is this crew tent (no ground sheet), includes mallet & peg set, located in South Derbyshire for collection or I can cost up postage if required.
  4. Hi everybody, I’ve joined the forum to get some help with our tent shown on the attached picture which we have used for a few private and public events. Unfortunately there are bits and pieces which are missing, broken as well as a few rips and thinning of the canvas and ropes. I came across a link to this website where someone had posted a few pages of a ‘book of tentage’ for tents such as these, hence me signing up to this forum. Does anybody know where we could get a full ‘book of tentage’ in order for us to make sure we have all of the parts and instructions to put up the tent (almost) as fast as the service men would have. An updated or simpler version would also be handy for a group of 10+ people to decipher between us. And as for the damage and wear of the tent.. are there any contacts for vintage tent repairers? We have the tent in the Isle of Man so if it was to be brought to somewhere in the UK by ourselves then it would be via the ferry to either Heysham or Liverpool. Unless there is a company to which it could get shipped. .. I have seen companies in the UK with tents just like ours, they look fab and tied up nice and neatly - whereas we’re still only getting the knack of this!! Any other information which you think might help would be greatly appreciated Thank you!

  6. MOD 2 man bivy tent with sewn in fly sheet . This is the type you would find strapped to the back of a ferret or used by drivers of soft skin's if they where unlucky. £45 ono plus postage Sheffield 0740 15 19 117
  7. Hey, probably a stupid question but.... I've just bought a 9x9 tent and before I try to put it up and look a total numpty.... Which poles go where?? I understand there are long poles and short poles...... which are which?? Cheers Dean
  8. Dear All Having now got a 9x9 tent and an arctic bell tent, my British Army 12x12 is now surplus to requirements (not least because it is too big to put up on my own safely). The tent originally came from the army surplus and paintball warehouse behind the Cowdray centre in Colchester and I seem to remember paying £450 for it. The kit comprises: 1) A full set of poles and joints - I think I have spares of each 2) Long bag for poles 3) Small bag for joints 4) Two end canvas pieces - lace up style 5) A rather threadbare roof canvas - we got wet at W&P last year when water pooled in it 6) A 12x12 Groundsheet (was £75 plus P&P last year from Anchor Supplies) 7) A white liner (which I bought for £49 plus P&P from H&H surplus since the tent was last used so haven't tested for fit and condition) 8) A catering tent heavy duty 12x12 middle canvas from Anchor supplies - cost £75 plus almost as much again for pallet delivery (which I bought since the tent was last used so haven't tested for fit and condition) I don't remember getting pegs with it but I can probably find 4 or 6 storm pegs to include in the package. Looking at recent e-Bay auctions the going rate for the basic tent is £300-£400 and I would like to get most of my money back on the ground sheet, liner and catering canvas which I have not used. I would rather have the convenience of selling these together, so I am looking for offers in the region of £550 for the lot. The tent and accessories have been stored indoors since W&P 2015 and were dried out afterwards! This is in several pieces and is far too heavy to post so I would much prefer that any potential buyer visits, puts it up, and is sure that they are happy before parting with money and taking it away. I do have a van so can deliver within reasonable distances of East Suffolk - certainly Norfolk, Essex outside the M25 or Cambridgeshire will be OK. I've attached some pictures of it at W&P at Folkestone last year. I'll add some more next time the grass is dry and I can lay things out in the garden. I usually work at home on Friday afternoons, and will be at home most Sunday mornings, if anyone wants to arrange to visit and inspect before making an offer, Please contact me via PM here if interested. I prefer Cash on Collection/Delivery - if paid by cheque, PayPal or bank transfer I will wait for the money to reach my account before releasing the goods. Regards Iain
  9. Can anyone help me finding a larger British WWII tent? (f.e. A British Army 160 lb tent) Does anyone also know a way to repair canvas? Is there something like a merchant who does this? I did already fix it by sticking a piece of canvas several times but this thing is becomming a rags sieve. Is it a good idea to steam it to clean it? And finaly, is there a way (product, treatment) to make the canvas stronger again? Thanks a lot guys ...
