  1. I have a 1941 AJS 350 (I know it's also a Matchless depending) The frame and engine and most other parts are correct to 1941 but it's on a Q plate as it was used for VMCC racing a few years ago. I would like to find it's history so I can get it back into standard trim (I think it's RAF issue as frame is black and never been painted and this is important!! has NO frame serial number as with most war bikes) If we could hunt it down on engine number ??? All ideas and help welcome.

  4. Hi Everyone, Sorry it's taken a while to get around to introducing myself but things never turn out exactly as you plan. After hoping to acquire a WW2 RAF Motorcycle I have ended up with a 1959 AFS (Auxiliary Fire Service) Matchless G3, I am picking it up tomorrow. Not exactly a military motorcycle but it is a bit different, and not too many of them around now, only about 138 known examples from the 500 or so built between 1949 and 1960(ish). I would be pleased to hear from anyone who has one of these Matchless machines. Regards, Dave.
  5. I have a '61 Matchless G3L. I have been told its from Norway but I was wondering if anyone knew more about the bike and weather it is possible to get a service history for the bike. It has 'Cevuld Met' on one side panel and wondered if anyone knows what it means. Pictures etc are here, http://www.jackstringer.co.uk/bikes/Matchless_G3/ Thanks, Jack Stringer
  6. Hello I am Jack Stringer and I have just started my move into Classic bikes and Military stuff. I have bought a Matchless G3LS, http://www.jackstringer.co.uk/bikes/Matchless_G3/ I don't have much planned for the bike yet, other than cleaning and registering it (age related plates), all I will be doing it riding it. It has a wrong side gear leaver and its upside down so that will take a few trips to get used to it. Jack Stringer
