  1. WANTED to view and scan I'm trying to find some manuals for the Humber Heavy Utility 4x4/FWD vehicle: - "Driver's Handbook" from late 1943 with reference "56/3". - "Driver's Handbook" from late 1944. - "Maintenance Manual and Instruction Book" from early/mid 1942 with reference "101/HR2". - "Replacement Parts Catalogue" from late 1941 - 1942. - any 1945 or later dated manuals. If anyone has any of these on their bookshelf I'd like to copy. Many thanks, Alan
  2. WANTED - A three spoke steering wheel and centre boss for a WW2 Humber Heavy Utility/Pick Up/Ambulance vehicles based on the Super Snipe chassis. Will consider any condition but ideally one that is intact but in need of some refurbishment.
  3. Hi, this is the first time I've posted on here, so bear with me. I've been restoring a Humber Heavy Utility 4x4 here in Swansea, South Wales. It's taking a while as I only get to work on it some weekends, and an evening or two if I'm lucky. I decided to to as much of the work myself as possible, and I've really enjoyed learning new skills. I have been lucky enough too share a very large workshop unit for the last few years and had the luxury of plenty of room. unfortunately the unit has now been sold and we;ve been given notice to vacate. I've managed to find a new place but it's a bit smaller, and I have to get rid of some items. I have a load of original panels from the vehicle which I used as patterns for new body panels. I now don't have room for them and really don't want to scrap them although they are on shocking state. does anyone want them? Seems a shame to dump them.
  4. Popped along to this small show today as I'd never heard of it until this morning. Nice setting of an old furnace next to a canal & surrounded by woodland. Plenty of smart steam & traction engines, tractors, cars & a few MVs as below. My take the Militant along next year.
  5. Hi everyone. I'm Tony. It seems I registered 5 years ago then hid! I have been fascinated by military vehicles, predominantly softskin, since I was a lad, but apart from models and kits, that's as far as it has ever gone. I'm a bit fickle though, as I'm also interested in steam railways, traction engines and boats, but apart from a couple of plastic cruisers that have come and gone, I don't have any of those either, other than models! I was offered a Humber Heavy Utility 'Box' for £100 as I recall, at a steam fair in Lancashire in the 70s. Oh how I wanted it, but 'er indoors would have none of it. I don't have 'er indoors now either! It's still one of my favourite vehicles, but I no longer have the space, health or money to contemplate owning a real one. Anyway, I have been lurking, and for any Humber enthusiasts, here's a strange bit of film from You Tube. I can't make up my mind whether it's a postwar civilian version or a hybrid, but those front hubs look quite unusual.

  7. Hi, I'm based in Swansea, South Wales. About half way through restoration of my Humber Utility (Box). Trying to do as much of the work myself as I can, learning as I go. See my profile for photos on progress so far, will add more as I go. Thanks Chris

  9. In my intro when I first joined I stated that I have been producing images for the Royal Arsenal Woolwich Historical Society from its uncatalogued thousands of negatives, they had been skipped then rescue took place. I was asked to show some images of the pig production in Woolwich Arsenal from the early 1950's xo heres hoping these come out.
