Another Saturday night with no Dad's Army in this region So what is this all about?
-
Well its another, you can't have Dad's Army tonight sort of Saturday, as tennis saturates both BBC channels. So what is this all about?

Who are these men? What are they doing? Why are they doing it? Where are they doing it? The photo does seem to be an opportunity for appropriate captions, which are welcomed. I will start this off with: "Broadsword calling Danny Boy, Broadsword calling Danny Boy"

So what have we here?

Not very common admittedly but any ideas?

Well as there is no Dad's Army this Saturday, here is a little teaser. These are the results of German research in WW2, something that the Allies apparently knew nothing about. I have googled various bits of the answer & there seems to be nothing about this wartime research out in the internet.

As we don't seem to get Dad's Army in Wales on Saturday night, I got bored so here is a mystery object that caught my eye. This is very much a diagram & is not terribly accurate but this is how it appears in the manual, minus of course the labels. The diagram is only a partial view of a larger thing. But the particular relevance is the presence of items A-D.

What's being tested here? If it helps this is 1937.

This not the usual format, it is a bit of interesting history from WW2 that I found loose inside an official publication. I have translated it & have some of the documents to which it refers. Anyone like to have ago at translating it?

What's this all about? Was it actually deployed in service?

Here we have two publications, the one on the right superseding the one on the left. Everything in the later one is word for word what is in the earlier one. But it is only 29 pages whereas the earlier one has 32 pages. The mystery object is the content or theme of the 3 pages that have now been dropped.

Just an easy two-liner. What's this all about?

What are these markings all about? The number top left is just for identification purposes. You can have a go at as many or as few as you wish at any one time. (The ratio of the image sizes is not important, its just the way they happened to turn out)
