  1. No idea what else it fits as its in the Carrier parts list. Im no expert ! :-D It came with a load of other British Carrier parts. Apparently it fits lots of British WWII Vehicles ?
  2. Someone has told me it is the part that holds the mortar baseplate at the back of the carrier rear fender ???
  3. I have an extremely rare Mk1 Vokes Air Cleaner for British Carriers. Can anyone advise me on what it is worth ? Going on eBay soon plus loads of other British Carrier parts.
  4. Cant find any numbers on it at all, maybe im looking in the wrong place. It was purchased with a load of other carrier parts so expected it to be a carrier item ?? Much help appreciated............
  5. I have a couple of smiths speedos for my British MK1 Carriers. Can someone ID the other NOS one in the box I have in the picture ?
  6. I would like help to ID this part. It came with a load of other parts which im trying to identify. Im pretty stuck on this item so much help appreciated. I think it may be a 1930s fort truck part, or maybe a LP carrier part. :nut:
  7. Guessing the tube is worth $2000 then ? just that I have one that I don't want, so if anyone is interested.
  8. Can someone give me an idea what a British 3" mortar tube is worth. Yes, id love to but one for 20 quid, but a need a realistic expectation of value ?????????
  9. Yes, that makes sense, as the carriers also have the fixed frontal armour passenger side. All 3 are Mortar carrier, shipped to NZ in 41. I do think the British used whatever they could get their hands on to make up the order and ship them out. Quite a rare, and nice feature I guess. I do have the contract number, so would anyone be able to trace parts fitted ?
  10. I have 2 British made carriers with these suspension units, and seem to have been on a very long time as Im having to cut the axel on the other carrier. I have been told that these are very early type units as the carriers are both mortar carriers issued to the NZ military in 1941. I have also been told thay are LP units ??. They do have a TL number, so maybe they are British made, but very early production ? Just wanted to find out who made them ????
  11. I have some confusion regarding suspension units I have on a particular British Made Carrier, picture supplied. I have also supplied a picture of the Assie LP type, which is different. Are mine from a Loyd carrier, or Vickers tank, or a different early type ? Much help appreciated. My carrier suspension below Australian LP type suspension below.
  12. Terry, Im not looking to sell quickly, I don't think ill be moving back to the uk for 6 months, so plenty of time to find the right buyer. I was really only looking to sell one to help fund the other restorations, Very disappointing, but ill get over it. I could be in the UK for any length of time. Mark...........
  13. Unfortunately, due to massive change of circumstances, im selling my entire collection of carrier items including 3 1941 British made Mortar carriers. After recently losing my Father in Feb this year, I was intending to bring my Mother from the UK over here to NZ. My Mother has now been diagnosed with a heart problem so wont be able to come over, due to immigration criteria. I am now in the sad process of selling the collection, and moving back to the UK for a while. I have no way of storing these items as Ill be renting my house out here in NZ. I will be listing the carriers first then selling the parts later. Over the next few weeks I shall be quickly rebuilding the carriers so you can see how complete they are, rather than show a hull and a box of bits you cant see. Any enquiries, please email me markp5218@hotmail.com :embarrassed:
  14. Well, you learn something new everyday. Thanks for the post, so I know if I ever see one, ill know what it is. :-)

  22. Not all smocks had a DZ flash, we sometimes only wore wings in the field. We were however told to wear the Air Assault late 90's and told to replace our Pegasus, not happy about that. Our parade para smocks had all badges, foreign wings, Dz flashed Air Assault etc, and well ironed !. :-D Still have mine.... Mark...
  23. I also have side armor I need for this carrier also. I do have another hull, and I think im going to cut that one up, as its 7mm thickness, and will do for patching up the other two. Just wondering why they don't do 7mm anymore ? shame...
  24. Side armor is 7mm thickness which is now a problem patching.........
