Thanks Richard, I've googled Bedford RL and the compressor doesn't look like mine, not that I'd have minded but it makes it that little bit more special knowing it came off a heavy Scammell. FYI, mine has a solid 2 belt pulley fitted, no holes like the one in Andy's photo, that doesn't necessarily mean it's always been there? Andy... Does your parts book list a number for the complete pump unit? I've found a website that deciphers VAOS parts numbers, this tells me that the [P3960] is a manufacturers part number, I've had no luck finding a gasket using that number. Thanks again. Max

I hope this is the right forum to ask this question? Working on the principle that people into big military trucks are also into big, old trucks in general, here goes. I'm trying to positively identify what I believe to be an old airbrake compressor pump unit, recently given to me attached to a 120 litre air receiver and belt driven by a 3hp electric motor. I'm pretty certain it's by Clayton Dewandre and from the early 60's (data plate says 9/1964), it's a 2 cylinder single stage (2 13/16" bore x 2 1/4" stroke) with a cast alloy inlet manifold, the only other info is "PCGA 31/6" on the data plate, this doesn't relate to any other info I can find anywhere on Clayton Dewandre. Can anyone suggest a model number and possible source of spares? All I really need is a head gasket as the bores and valves are spot on, worst case I can make a gasket out of whatever is used as a replacement for CAF these days. Thanks all Max
