QUOTE=snort;427314]Hi All
There is a rather nice Scammell S26 on ebay (Item no.321592740569 )
This has a Rolls Royce Engine in and I thought the Military contract had a Cummins engine?
My question is, am I right and is this a civvy one or did the Military use both?
thanks for any help.
Steve

the chassis number is stamped into the chassis on the near side front near where the chassis plate was

C8 diff ratio is 6.57:1
The axle code is usually stamped on it on the n/s top

it seems a bit strong putting it in the hands of your solicitor which will probably cost more than the bill. I have also received a invoice I phoned the ferry coordinator and explained I had already paid and he was going to check with the ferry company. As far as I am aware he was doing the ferry booking as a volunteer and should be praised for all he did not criticised.

you need to take out the gearbox to access the spring on the top of the release bearing. it's a good idea to make up a couple of studs to replace the top two gearbox bolts to save putting excess weight on the gearbox shaft. it's quite easy to do

I have a morris commercial which has been retrofitted with a perkins p6. It starts fine when cold but when it's hot the engine will not turn until it has stood a while and cooled. A new battery, starter, and battery lead have been fitted and we have tried a jump lead from the block to the negative terminal on the battery with no success. Does anyone have any ideas what the problem could be? Thanks.

You cannot get duplicate release papers but the MOD will give you a date in service letter. Think it cost ten pounds

John the flasher is below the fuses in the center of the dash. The hazard switch is above your head next to the radio.
The gauge for number one air tank on mine goes to full as soon as you turn on the switch formerly known as the ignition I have had a look at the pressure switches behind the glove box but which one does number one air tank?

I need to change the o ring on the oil cooler of a rolls royce 305 eagle engine. Has anyone on here any experience of taking the oil cooler element out of the filter housing I have removed the two small screws but it still seems solid.

Just checked the propshafts on my dodge and theres play in the UJ's but it seems to be the cup which is moving not the actual joint. The clamp round the cup is tight. Is it normal for them to slide?

The gearbox looks good now

On mine somebody had screwed the rear reflector on with a long self tapper which had gone into the back upright so it wouldn't come off
