  1. That makes more sense, I was not aware that the wheel had lugs on the inside as well.
  2. Are you sure, they are only held on by two small tack welds? The pivoting ring on the hub would be the better place to fit drag ropes.
  3. https://www.flickr.com/photos/buzzer999/7573732326 Might the lugs be for netting?
  4. The Transfer or Transposing box is built like a brick outhouse and rarely gives problems, it only drives the front axle while the rear prop is driven directly from the gearbox main shaft. The Scammell 6 speed gearbox is fragile and can fail for a number of reasons, it is unique as it only has 4 pairs of gears to give 6 speeds.

  15. It is most likely an 8.4l 6LW with 2 rocker covers or an 18l 6L3B with 6 individual rocker covers. Is it still at Dennet's Shipbuilding?
  16. Agreed, you can also just about see 3 studs for mounting trims. I seem to remember they were always referred to as 'hub caps' which is similar to calling modern door mirrors 'wing mirrors'.
  17. It would be unusual to balance trailer wheels so they are most likely from a vehicle. The load index of 95/92 refers to a weight capability of 690kg each as a single or 630kg each when used as a twin.

  20. Is that a 'potato masher' stick grenade on the armoured car, I understood that only the Germans used them?
  21. Is it part of a device that prevents you moving two selectors at the same time?
