"we will work through these with as positive and attitude as one can muster"... seriously?

Not a particularly customer friendly message imo.

For whatever reason whenever I try to order on your website, your website gives an error message, or no response... it is the only place in cyberspace I get' this issue... amazon and other main-stream retailers I have no issues. It may be I am the only one, but it doesnt mean you have the right to be rude.

I have sent you my email address (as you suggested) for you to send me an invoice there... assuming of course you can muster enough positive attitude to support this approach.

    Regards

    Tim Bell

Tim, the reason it appears slightly rude is that you have misquoted Mike by substituting 'and' for 'an' which changed the meaning of the sentence.

Thinking about this again, the conventional indicator failure circuit is detecting the presence of an intact incandescent bulb and would only work if the resistor failed, not the LED.

You can buy inline load resistors (usually quite cheap (£6 ish)) that will solve that problem for you. Just fit them inline in the indicator circuit and the vehicle will see resistance that it's supposed to.

Not inline Rob but across the LED to lower the resistance seen by the sensing circuit to the level of a conventional bulb.

  4. A simple way is to use a set of 24V relays to switch 12V supplies to the lamps, if you have access to relays you can make it up yourself or use one of these: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/284187851514

A downside is that a 12V supply is required and usually tapped off the link between the two batteries. This can cause one battery to discharge over time so a better way is to use a 10A 24V/12V dropper as used in trucks.

The LED route is a possibility but remember that it is a legal requirement to have an indicator failure device which will not work by just fitting LED bulbs.

  5. Seeing as you said large, how about an ex Hungary oilfield Scammell Super Constructor available in High Wycombe? It was on face book or whatever it is called a few days ago, has an offset cab which makes it look strange from the front.

  6. "But some Hurricanes were deliberately broken up and buried after the war so the Soviets did not have to pay back the United States"

Really? Something like 1400 were built in Canada but not the USA. A large number were built at Langley at the plant that became home to the Ford 'D' series truck.
