  1. We recently offered our services to Lancashire fire service to help with the fires on winter hill nearby us, they were quick to accept our offer ! the vehicle turned out to be ideal, accessing areas that were otherwise out of reach.
  2. Hello fellow shielder owner. I have a drivers manual on its way to me, should take a week or so. when it arrives i will let you know and email a copy. In exchange will you then send me a copy of the technical description as i do not have one ? Regards Dale
  3. I am pretty sure i will be in Pinjarra in September, if you like i may be able to take a look. Let me know how far you get.
  4. Thanks for that Andy, I will be all over the fuel system early next week. The sarry can be seen trying to keep up with the shielder in this video taken earlier this evening. I'm in the shielder, and Dave is driving the Sarry More of an incline rather than a hill, but still could not get revs up in third gear. We will keep exploring options. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it !
  5. Thanks for the reply Trophy. I currently have 20 x 12 trakgrips on. She has done 52mph before now on a flat road, (closed road !) therefore she can be a good one when she wants. I think the next thing to try will be timing ! Stay tuned Thanks again.
  6. Hi Nic, I am also having the same trouble. She is an FV610 and not up armoured. Feels pretty strong on the flat, but start climbing a hill, and power seems to gradually diminish. I had an exhaust manifold leak, which we fixed with a new 2into1 and new gaskets. Cleaned the carb, new leads, new plugs, all to no avail. I will keep trying, but not sure what to do next.
  7. I was thinking about fitting one, just for the kids, as a treat, so when you turn your back for a second and they are climbing all over it, i could give them the NI experience ?
  8. The coil is available at the moment on milweb. Should be better than a roo-bar !
  9. Yes i know, i should have put 83 BA 71 for the FV603
  10. If you are collating reg numbers, can i add a couple ? 01 CA 98 FV610 03 BA 71 FV603
  11. We use 5ton axle stands when refurbing wheels on the sarry. But ! the vehicle was picked up by a stacker front and back at the same time to keep it level. Then lowered onto the stands.
  12. Its a credit to you, keep going, and keep the pics coming ! Well done.
  13. My experience sounds a bit like yours. Bought a gimpy from a photo, what arrived was nothing like the photo, sod em. I won't go back again ! Decided to make my own, that turned out way better ! I should have done that in the first place.
  14. Hi Paul, I have been looking for one for a while to go in my Saracen turret. Let me know when you decide on a price. Cheers
  15. You could force the solenoid into the open position and put a nut under it to stop it returning, then try your starting and running procedure. If that works you will know you have a failed solenoid.
  16. Amazing refurb, its a credit to you. Keep up the good work. keep the photos comming
  17. You know where to come Rick to get your bits polished ! How did you go with the oil and boiling gearbox secret ceremony ?
  18. There is a photo of the breathing apparatus i use here. Its powered by an extra feed from the compressor through an 'air breath filter' on the separate regulator. This feeds clean air into the mask. Its all very cheap to put together.
  19. do you have a photo of the canvas you are after ?
  20. I agree Dave, i have suitable, air fed mask, that is good for blasting and painting. £40 ebay. i can't find a pic, but i will.
