    At last i have found 'The Man' An ex-panzergrenadier who used to work on these, he has explained the engine removal process so we are having a go at it tomorrow. Given time he will be getting me the manuals etc EXCELLENT !

    Another session with needle gun and a coat of paint. Progress is slow but steady.

    Steering tillers removed and refurbed. In-house sandblasting unit makes things so much easier.

    I have decided to take Ferretfixer and Bob Grundy's advice and WAIT ! until i can get a manual from Bovvy or Munster. Although it is very frustrating that i cant move engine extraction forward. I suppose it makes sense, easy to break something that is very difficult to replace.

    Top sides, top and bottom plate is now off. Why are the bolts this shape ? you only get one chance to get on them, try to undo them ‘off angle’ and it’s back to gas axe !

    Does anybody have any experience in removing the rear hull section in order to access engine etc ? Does the engine and gearbox stay in the vehicle, whilst the steering unit and final drive come off with the hull ?
