Hi folks, this picture appeared on a police car feed on f/b. 

A couple of questions,  anybody know where it was taken? Anybody seen any more pictures of Morris 1000 traveller's with either the MOD Police, or with any of the constabulary that were merged to make the MOD Police? (Air Ministry Constabulary, War Department Constabulary and Admiralty Constabulary)

Finally,  anybody know of a ex Military 1000 Traveler for sale?

Hi folks, just a quick one, can anybody remember a few years ago, possibly 10 years, a website test had photos of mainly British soft skin vehicles, from pre WWII to present day? If so, has anybody got the link, or gas it disappeared?

Ahh, I did wonder., nice mark up though. 

I know this was last year, but did it sell? And is it road registered? 

Will get to the bottom of it, probably only going yo be a tiny thing, but, so frustrating!!! 

Ran the engine at high revs for over 5 mins, stick didn't move at all. Checked all pipes etc, clear.  Valve rattles when shook, so working. Removed the oil filter cap, no noticeable exhaust smell etc. 

I asked a friend to check his mutts dipstick. He said that it was not as loose as my mutts one, and he sent me a picture of the stick itself.  The end of the hard rubber bung, for want of a better word, is more or less parallel in its entire width, mine tapers off towards the end.  Mine is the top 1.  

Also, I can hold the rubber part, and easily spin the metal parts

OK, no exhaust fumes and loud puffing heard. Will check dip stick with engine running.

Opinions please, is this dip stick too loose? 

Another issue i have is that after a run, the dip stick has been pushed up out of the tube, there by loosing oil. Apart from checking crank case breather tube for possible blockage, causing pressure build up,  should the dip stick move freely out of the tube? 

Probably a strange question, but roughly a year ago  a S.A. built CJ6 Jeep was offered for sale on, I think, ebay,  somewhere in Cheshire. According to DVLA it is not taxed at the moment.

Does anybody on here know if it is still stored somewhere.?

Sorry, yep, running fine, slight oil leak that needs chasing. Getting between 15 and 18mpg. Was a combination of starter motor and timing.  Followed the 2 finger rule between oil filter and the condenser housing in the distributor body.  Mine was 1 finger width!! Picture taken at Chester-le-Street steam rally 

The 1st Military Event I took the Astra to (as apposed to a 999 event at Stretford Fire Station) was the Helicopter Museum show beginning of April. Was a bit cold the Saturday night as I woke up Sunday morning to frost in the 9x9 and on the car!! 

The last show I took the Astra to last year was the Christmas event at Manchester Airport where we were invited to park under Concorde. 

Also  realised that when j took the +ve lead off the starter motor, noticed the nut was split! 

Took starter motor off, covered in  oil (from a known source, side plate on the engine) placed it side by side with the spare that came with it. First thing I noticed was the cog moves further up the shift than the spare, and the recoil spring is open, the spare has a  collar?  on it ! 

Probably a silly question  but which is the correct 1?  Thee one st the rear i just took off in picture1, swapped positions on picture 2 ,take off at the rear 

On the way home, running fine! 

Tbh, I did think it wasn't right,  with the batteries fully charged, and with a jump vehicle, it still turns slowly, but not as slow as the video I posted. It tried to fire though!! 

Afternoon folks  finally got my Mutt thaf I been wanting for over 20 years now, ( had to look it up, via the M151 newsletter) bought it from Chris, member on here, Sirc, about 4 plus weeks ago, unfortunatly after driving home,  it wouldn't start!!! Been trying, through various forums to sort it, cleaned carb and new seals,  new batteries, new coil, new plugs,  sorted new earth strap from engine to body, no joy, even tried jump start from my police astra, engine turns over slow. Even tried easy start, no joy!!!.

It is (or was) standard practice to send similar equipments to one base for repair and overhaul. Armour to Ludgershall, aircraft to St. Athan, and so on. Telford is now run by Babcock as a contractor to the Defence Support Group. Of course someone may be able to help you more with your question.

the car was part of the white fleet, so servicing etc was in Telford, not Donnington, (eg Halfords is listed for tyres etc)
