  1. There was a thread on correct colours for water jerry cans (black or brown) and I'm sure Clive had found excerpts from the regulations but I can't find it now.
  2. For wartime it's probably SCC2. This thread might help - http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?39533-SCC2-(Brown)-paint
  3. Lol. I would say I'm "in the club", but as I'm getting married next weekend the rumours would be terrible.
  4. You may want to check that you are OK to take your test in it - I seem to remember indicators being needed. I might be wrong mind you.
  5. I'm not sure in practice. Are you planning on taking the test with a left hand drive vehicle with no indicators?
  6. I'm surprised - I would have thought the T16 would be more desirable on account of it having more leg room for the driver and tiller steering.
  7. Be careful of the capacitor as they can dry out and fail catastrophically. You should be able to do a resistance test with a multimeter and see the resistance increase to infinity (with one lead disconnected).
  8. The blue one is printed by Bemrose and Sons, and the black one is printed by Hunt, Barnard and Co., so that may be the difference. Both have Chilwell references stamped inside - 62/616 for the Cromwell and 62/665 for the Churchill. I was about to pick up a red one (Crusader gearbox) but the shop I was getting it from has already sold it
  9. Thanks Clive, but I don't think that covers it. They are different documents of the same type and approximate date with different colours.
  10. I'm sure this has cropped up on a thread before but i can't find it. Is there any meaning to the colour of wartime service instruction books? I've seen black, blue and red ones, but there's no indication of meaning on the books.
  11. There's a magnetic field around expensive or freshly painted parts as well. Sort of a gravity well that attracts sharp and heavy items.
  12. I know, I'm saying they are likely to put more effort into remembrance and historical commemoration than they do for a bit of fun at a vehicle show. I don't think it's reasonable to assume they'd take a tank to one because they do the other.
  13. I'm not sure any show would (or should) attract the same level of commitment from a museum like Saumur as a national day of rememberance.
  14. Did RAF vehicles get rebuild plates like the army ones? That's how I got the ERM of my WOT2.
  15. I was surprised I wasn't asked to do either dog impression, nor recite the entirety of "burning bridges". I did refrain from negative waves for the entire test though.
  16. Just take take your time and don't get flustered. You'll be fine.
  17. Yep. It needs L plates and has to be in roadworthy condition.
  18. Nice One! The engine is the same as in a Ford Pilot, and spares for it are reasonably easy to come by. The truck itself is a rarity though - not many left so take care of it. It's worth joining the early v8 club UK (Rob on here can give you details). Where are you based, and what sort of thing are you looking for?
