  1. I'm surprised to see Borax returning to be honest, he must be made of mighty stern stuff, if only to get over the mashing he got from poor Richard....:shake::beatenup: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?19819-A-strange-thing-happened-to-Richard-Farrant-at-Beltring
  2. I'm thinking this might be submerged, the beams overhead and tie-downs may be to prevent the objects from floating up. PS, re those car spraying lessons you where going to give me, I'd like to cancel if possible..
  3. Careful and sustained study of those images has led me to believe the item being lifted is 2 ft tall.
  4. Take it from me it'll never happen on here....been there done that!
  5. :rotfl: Who are you? Have we met? Where am I?
  6. Reckon under a thousand members back then too..
  7. Scares me that I'm old enough to remember this thread...:shake:
  8. Best tyre remover bar none, cheap and portable with it, my home is incomplete since I sold mine....
  9. Ok so he's invested to make money and needs a return, and do I think he makes some very valid points, but this is exactly the same interpretation of how things work that was shown by pop group/singer song writer managers who took all the money earned by their 'discoveries' saying 'There are plenty more like you sonny, take it or leave it' in the past. We all know how well that worked long term...
  10. If I was running a show I'd be taking every opportunity to keep potential exhibitors informed and happy at all times, I would be proactive not nonreactive, people need to plan ahead and they do need to know.
  11. It's all getting to be rather too tedious for words isn't it, not publishing the terms and conditions is just plain silly, however can anyone book with confidence that they won't be turned away because something about their vehicle or setup breaks the rules..it's bonkers! Them not replying to our queries on here ain't a good sign either...
  12. All good stuff Jim, and very thorough as usual.
  13. With greatest respect to your memory but they were Constructor in cab / front wings only, easily mistaken at first glance I didn't think they were ever (to my knowledge correct me if I'm wrong) issued to REME in UK, as they where special order Explorers for NZ army and listed as such in sales records, only a very few where made.

Cheers Degsy, and the same to everyone, lets make it a good'un
  15. Excellent work on those king pins, if I'd made those I'd find it hard to hide them away inside an old axle!
  16. In all the 20yrs attending I've only used their loos a very few times, apart from the bar urinals, so it's not something I worry about at all... No doubt now you have raised the subject there will be toilet wristbands issued... Bernard
  17. Clive, I started to fill out the form then got stuck on an ambiguilty regarding support vehicle/campers which I've asked about by email, but had no response as yet, but it's early days. When filling the form a floating total cost box follows one down the page, it starts at £25.00 if you click the toilet charge box the total goes to £35.00, and presumably totals up all your extra passes and such. So it's optional, I won't be ticking it as I have a camper. Bernard
  18. Nice work as usual Ben, always look forward to seeing you progress the build up, and I usually pick up a little tip or two, thanks for sharing it with us. Bernard
  19. Anyone notice rather barbed comment on that YouTube vid? bill baggins Brought to you by the same guys that cleaned out the Sherman Tank at CFB Chilliwack, stole everything they could cut off with a torch...including the live cannon! Right under the armies nose!
  20. We went on one of those a couple of years ago in Seattle, there was nothing WW2 about any of the ones I saw all were 'replicas' but all the info inside implied they where genuine WW2 vehicles, I remember thinking that was a little bit naughty at the time. I would doubt any claims of authenticity regarding these vehicles, even in a newspaper......
  21. Sad news indeed, and a great loss, I only met Peter once (1970 ish) at his Shoreham workshop, fascinated as he was reproducing Jeep panels by hand, we were into Choppers back then and a friend of mine bought Peters old knuckle head suicide clutch drag racing Harley and ran it at Santa Pod, he still has it, but it's morphed into street legal form now.
  22. That's worth proper money in the right steamy circles, it's a very desirable and as yet untouched...
