  2. Hello All, Someone I know has this new/unused Burtonwood Cylinder boring machine still in it's original crate with everything wrapped in a protective coating. It has the appearance of being of Military origins but is it? Can anyone help? Thanks in advance. Ian.
  3. Hello Lisa, The VRN that you have listed looks very much like the military ERM. I've done a quick search on the RLC museum website and there is a B vehicle data card available for this number. If you contact them, they may be able to confirm the vehicle type without you having to purchase a copy of the card beforehand. I'm not familiar with Mini VRN's and this is just an observation. Ian.
  4. Hello All, I've been asked by a non member of the Forum to appeal for information on a Colt 45 pistol that was recently acquired. It was assumed that it was a replica but certain features are what you would expect of a real weapon (The gun can be stripped down to component parts) so it would be helpful if someone could identify exactly what it is please? Thanks in advance. Ian.
  5. Thanks for the help in identifying the trailer. Any idea how much it's worth? as this example may be up for sale soon. Ian.
  6. Hello All, Can anyone identify what type of trailer this is please? Thanks in advance, Ian.
  7. Mike, My thin spoke steering wheel measures 17" 1/8 diameter. Hope this helps. Ian.
  8. Hello All, I have various parts available from a Coventry Climax 110v generator trailer. A brief list of available parts: Trailer chassis Coventry Climax engine GEC 110v charging Unit Various switch gear Body side bins/lockers Any questions please PM me. Thanks, Ian.
  9. Hello All, I found these in one of the lockers on my Coventry Climax generator trailer, at first glance they appear to be similar to a spark plug but I'm not convinced... anyone know what they are? Are they of use to anyone? Thanks in advance, Ian.
  10. Hello, Thank you for your reply and the photo. My trailer is the later version with split rim wheels and a slightly different body style, photo attached. The trailer in your photo has a short section similar to the front drawbar whereas my type doesn't appear to have this from photos that I've seen of others. Having said that, the angled mounting bracket that the pintle bolts to may well be the same secification. Ian.
  11. Hello All, I need to recreate the rear pintle subframe for a Lightweight cargo No2 trailer, like the one in the photo. Has anyone done one of these before? I would be looking for dimensional drawings or photos that I can use for reference. Thanks in advance. Ian.

  13. Hello All, I am familiar with the markings used by electrical/lighting manufacturers Butlers (Prefix Letter B) and Lucas (Prefix letter L) but who used the letter C prefix? The electrical socket and bracket in the photo has the markings C-WD-TC1, can anyone identify who the manufacturer was please? Thanks in advance. Ian.

  15. Thanks for the information Richard. I've read somewhere that the No 2 trailers built by Motor Panels Ltd were to Contract S7943 and had Census numbers X6208181 - 6210180. Would these Census numbers have been exclusive to these trailers? Because doing some basic calculations there are more than 1,000 numbers between these. Assuming that this information is correct then I will need to find a 10cwt trailer ID data plate from this range for my trailer. Does anybody have a suitable one available please? Ian.
  16. Hello All, I recently purchased this British 10 cwt trailer and I would like to know more about it. i.e. Manufacturer, Year, Model etc. According to the seller, it was acquired from the RAF in the late 1940's. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be a ID plate, is there any way to find out it's identity? Thanks in advance, Ian.
  17. Hello All, I'm looking for a pair of WW2 Butler type axle flood lamps. Thanks in advance. Ian.
  18. Hello All, I'm looking for a 10 cwt trailer hitch, the type that has the lifting arms on it. Any help to locate one would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Ian.
  19. Hello All, I've done a quick search on here but I couldn't find a previous post on this subject so here it goes... During WW2, did the RAF use the British 10 CWT GS trailer? I have seen what appears to be the same chassis used for applications like ground equipment but I've yet to see any photographic evidence that they used the types of load carrying trailers employed by the Army. Any information or photos would be appreciated. Apologies if this is going over old ground. Thanks in advance, Ian.
  20. Yes, this tug has been saved and has gone to a new owner.

  22. Hello All, For the Jeep owners out there that would like a bit of extra security for their Ford GPW or Willys MB, I have managed to modify the H700 keyed switch (Ignition Switch) and toolbox lock to use different keys. The keyed switches and toolbox locks are top quality reproductions and to try to keep with the original appearance, I have sourced solid brass key blanks from the USA. I'm not sure how well these will be received as I know that authenticity is important to many MV owners but I've tried to match the keys as best I can. I've attached a photo of the proof of concept set. Please let me know your thoughts and anyone interested in either a complete lock set or individual items please contact me by PM or directly by email: arun.locks@gmail.com Thanks, Ian.
  23. The hanger is located at Dunsfold, Surrey. This aerodrome had a post war association with Hawker then BAE. I couldn't see any vents in the pit but I only looked into one part of it and the end was concrete.
  24. Hello All, I'm currently working in an old T2 hanger 'somewhere in Southern England' and there is a large 'T' shaped pit in the floor covered with heavy metal plates. Having removed one of the smaller plates there appears to be a large Yellow steel box, possibly a trolley, in the centre pit. Any help with identifying what it is and its use would satisfy my curiosity. I've attached some photos. Thanks in advance. Ian.
  25. Hello All, During a visit to a local yard today I came across this Mercury Truck and Tractor Co tug. I'm not sure of the age or model but it's been earmarked for scrap. I thought that it deserved a second chance so I convinced the owner to let me try to find a buyer that could make use of it. Although it's in quite a poor condition it may yield some useful parts if not suitable to restore as a whole. Any interested parties please PM me. Thanks, Ian.
