  1. Thank you Simon. The "?" dimension is the distance between the two cross members.
  2. I'm having trouble working out the dimensions of the 10 CWT No 1 trailer. The Data Book quotes internal and overall sizes, but nothing else. Could someone please dimension the attached image for me?
  3. I'm designing a CAD model of the 10 CWT 2 wheel MkI or No.1 trailer and I'm puzzled by the dimensions given in the Data Book of Army Transport. It quotes 3'9" (top of raves). When I use this the trailer seems too short. Could someone please provide me with the overall height of the trailer, to the top of the top rail? The Canadian trailers seem to be 48.5" high, but can't use that as a basis for the UK model.
  4. Does anyone have definitive rim dimensions for 10.5 x 16 " tires. I have one source, US Army tires, for a 9.00-16, quoting 35.15" diameter tire and 18.62" diameter rim, with a 6.5CS. I assume the last number 6.5CS is rim width? If so a 10.5" tire on a 6.5" rim would be pushing it I think. So could be 8.5" or 8". Just not sure. So does anyone have the numbers for a 10.5-16 tire as fitted to a range of British vehicles, Bedford's and others.
  5. Ok, here are the first images of the resin master: I'm a happy camper....:-D
  6. Building a CAD model of the wheel, including the 10mm MOBAT rims, which have lugs. What I require is a profile and base dimensions.
  7. OK, 16 microns is fine, and that is one printer. There are loads of different ones with varying specs. So here is a view with text at about 2mm depth, on the 1/24th scale tire. I can make it shallower if required.
  8. We'll just have to see what it looks like scaled down. I'll give it a go over the next few days. £d Printer specs would be good though, so I don't go under the limits.
  9. As I built the original full sized, I can add in the lettering accordingly. However, once scaled down and then through the 3D printer, the definition may well get lost. So I could overcook the letters height and see what happens. It will all depend on the printers quality, if it is 0.1mm then it may work. Do you know what 3D printer is going to be used? As much an experiment for me as well.
  10. Here is the first image of the completed tire in 1:24th scale.
  11. Nigel building a 3D or CAD model of tire should be too difficult. There are good specs for this one, it will depend on how you want to use the model. Yes it could be sent to a 3D printer as a complete tire, and this may be the best way. I'd be happy to quote a price and welcome any interest in this and other items required for the scale modellers. I've made a lot of items over the years mostly for flight simulators, but moving now into full CAD for replica makers and modelers. I'll PM you a quote for a complete tire. Nigel raises a question about how many people would be interested in 3D CAD support for modeling? It is a good question. What is the answer?
  12. A 3D printer is on my list of items to buy, but not just now. Anyhow, here is the updated model, getting there.
  13. I am a skilled CAD and 3D modeler and undertake projects for a range of customers. From restorations, replicas to simulations. One of the interesting things is the research associated with the projects. Hence coming here to this forum for my vehicle needs. I have one project now: Bedford QL Bowser, 1942 period. I'm looking for any detailed images or technical manuals relating to this vehicle, especial the pump and its controls, hiden in the rear compartment Here is an early view of the model. .
