  1. Guys did the British use the WLF, I am trying to create a classic Military vehicle page to run with my Modern Military page on the Plain Military forum. I am useing all the pictures from this years and last years Plain invasion events plus various other shows. Jeeps and Jimmy I am sure were used but not sure about the WLFs. TIA Tony
  2. A new rule is being implemented for next years skittle night. If the Plain Military team don't win, a five mile gaunt with full webbing will be on the cards for everyone. Have spoken to the main guy at the ABF and they are over the moon that we will try and raise as much needed cash for the charity. Any idears on how we could raise a few more quid on the visit will be greatfully received. I have asked if we could have some collection tins to put in some if not all the local Army camps, so volenteers may be needed to pop over to the camps to collect them. All this will be sorted closer to the time. as the year goes on things will be added and dropped so watch this space. Tony
  3. OK Dave, are you doing the scale modal show at Andover again this year. Tony
  4. Dave nobody has to do anything they don't want to do. The thing is we don't want to break the convoy to much so on that note, if we feel that the route/s are to demanding then we scrub it from the planner. Tony
  5. Hello peeps Should be hearing back from the ABF charity very soon. Once I have that in place then the real work can begin. West down know we are coming back next year and there seems to be no problems with the planned event. Numbers for the event is not to much of an issue at present but if interest does get a little out of hand then we may have to put a set number for attendance. The MOD and Land Marc are not to worryed about how many we have as long as we can control you all. As for tracked vehicles, it is totally in the hands of him up stairs so go to church every Sunday and keep him sweet. A few idears have been put forward to me via Westdown one of which is a static display of your vehicles. What they mean by this is not clear but I am meeting up with Bob in a few weeks so I will find out more then.. Planners for the drive outs will be sorted and drive outs will start on the dot. I know it may not be posible for everyone but if we could all be on camp by 10 Saturday morning that means the driving can start by 12 at the lastest. This does not apply to anyone wishing to arrive Friday. Last of all, there will be a few more new routes added for next year. These routes will be graded E, M, H. I will post more on this as the routes are sorted. I am working towards us useing the CCDTA and RETA, both these areas will be subject to avalibility, so cannot comment on this to much. As next year will be a fund raiser for the ABF any donations would be greatfully received. Once again thanks to all that came this year and lets hope next year will be as good if not better. ATB Tony
  6. Hello guys and gals, just to let folk know we are starting work on next years Plain invasion event. I have contacted Westdown and it looks good on the licence side of things. We have been asked if next year we could raise much needed cash for the ABF which I have agreed to. By making this move we will get fast tracked to what we need. Apart from those dreadfull portaloos is there anything you think we need to do to make this event better. The dates will be the same as this year, the camp site will be the in the same place and the team will be the same. All we need is you guys. ATB Tony
  7. Sunday for the Plains team, we are coming mob handed so I hope the kettle will be on for around 11sh. Be good to catch up with some faces as I have not been around for a while. Tony

  13. Paul what parts are you after mate? will give you a shout as soon as we have got the bits we need. Tony
  14. Jack the date remains the same old chap, bit early to be booking in aren't you? There will be a few changes to next years event with more routes being added as soon as we have checked them out. But first we have to get the MOD back on board, once again no complaints from westdown so we are half way there.
  15. I have tonnes of them mate, still trying to get them sorted and posted on PB. Will give you a shout as soon as they go on. Will be posting a fair few on here as well. Tony
  16. Did anyone go around the other side of the bunker and get a shot of the Sherman hull?
  17. The perspex is on there to stop the local d**kheads from smashing them. You would think they had better things to do but it does go on.
  18. OK chap as most of you know West down sent a bloke down sunday to do a write up about the event, the people and there vehicles. Not sure how long this article will take to come out but as soon as it does I will let you all know. How many of you would be interested in a copy? I did ask weather he could send it to me electronicly for th forum but he was not to sure weather he could or not. The bloke from the AAC has sent a thank you to you guys for allowing him and his family a breif walk around your vehicles. All the Land and Range Wardens have sent thanks to you dave and Yogi for your kind jestures of tea, coffee and bacon sarnies. Great weekend boys and girl and plans are already being set for next year. Thanks again to all involved and to my my team Yogi, Pete, Lee and darren. without you guys the event would not have happened. Tony
  19. Hi Clive Myself and Yogi lay awake most of the night planning the welcoming party for you guys. We had no times to go on so it was just a case of seeing the Dak flying into Neatheravon while we were all playing in the water at Tidworth. Word was you were having a roast and a walk around and then you were setting of back to base. It was just a case of getting to Zulu and parking, the Jerry cans were not my idear but it was funny. Good to see you all.
  20. See Rambo told you your under pants are to small. Im getting me some of those pink wellys Rosie had on for next year.
  21. Looks like a flying 99 without the flake not a chicken. Great to have seen you guys pass through, well done. Tony
  22. Na you are ok Dave you can have that one. I have plenty of the things here mate. Thanks everyone, well happy with this years turn out and blame the manager at Land Marc for that last part of the drive. I only asked for a puddle to have a play in not a route with more holes than one of those tanks in the bombard area. Like I said on the day, I never new that track was a PROW so it will be on the run for next year. Anyone wishing to take part, please be aware this is not for the faint harted and non swimmers. Just been through 800 photos and no... no smiley faces from me guys HEHE. saying that Jack seemed pleased to see us and Im still sat here perfecting that two finger wave he has mastered for his pit stop team.
  23. There has to be an event next year, We are hopeing to have 2 Stollys going at it head to head. This event can't happen without you guys, you are the stars of the show, you are the guys that restore these vehicles, spend 100s on them and drive them miles to be there. A very BIG thankyou for attending and and making this a great weekend. I'm sure we will picking mud out of every hole for many weeks to come. Just to put the story strait, the Plains team bombed at the skittles and then got totaly trashed at the quiz. Next year we will be back with avengence. Thankyou to everyone, the HMVF members and guests the kids, Land and range wardens for turning a blind eye when needed, the Boys at Greenland camp for allowing us to take over there base camp for an hour or two, and last but not least Dave. May I just say Dave you are a top guy, the food was stunning, everything you have done for the team was well over the call of duty, if there was ever a medal for cookery, tieing red and white tape to Dragons teeth and trees, shouting louder than a Stolling and just being there you deserve two mate. Thankyou again everyone and all I can say is, next year chaps. Tony PS. DaveP do me a favour, get the floor welded in your Landy for next year mate before we all drown in muddy water HAHA.
  24. Paul, glad you got home OK mate. I think we were all worryed about those brakes of yours. Respect guys and thankyou for coming along and suporting this event.
  25. All you guys have a great weekend and hopefully catch up with you all near Neatheravon. Any of you guys coming down the 303 please keep an eye out for my boys. Tony Plains party pack
