For your information : I'm selling reproduction B-set rods for your 19-set.

    ANTENNAE RODS "G" ZA1771 (B-set).

Reproductions made from copper tube and threads in brass.
Tube length 24" (as originals) and right tube diameter. Top of the tube is open as original British produced examples.
Correct thread size and length, will screw into your base without adjustments. To avoid corrosion the threads are made in brass.
First batch is painted in British service brown, but can easily spray painted in any color of your desire.
    > To prevent these rods sold as originals (sold for 45 pounds / 50 euros these days if you can find them) these reproduction rods are stamped with an "R" at the base, denoting reproduction. Also the weight (ca. 90 grams) is a little higher than the originals. <

Sold as reproduction, I cannot guarantee these will send/receive radio signals properly.

    £22 / €25 each, exclusive postage

What size is the threaded end please. I've just bought a replica 'B' set aerial mount and the threaded hole for the aerial is 4mm. Will these screw in.

    Thanks Steve.

Presumably you will acquire one of those metal bases from R&R. So I've concentrated on the  rare rubber part. As a stop gap until one turns up, one could be turned in hardwood or aluminium and painted black. Threceived_375127265497233.thumb.jpeg.a52c83d18863681d48855ce994e69957.jpege measurements are near enough for a repro. The five grooves are about 1/8" deep  Ron

Thanks for that Ron, measurements would be most helpful. Is this type of aerial mount the same for all or do they differ in construction. Meaning do some look different in some way or another.

Hi buddy I'll take a set of these please.

Everything for a Dingo is expensive, if you can find it..! I’ve just rebuilt my engine and decided I couldn’t put it back in without tidying up the dingo first so it’s now pretty much stripped for blasting and rewiring.

If you need tyres the Empire tyres from Barry Ring are very good.

Have you got any photos of said aerial so I can see what the actual aerial looks like.

Yes mate been in touch with him. £320 each. Expensive thing owning a Dingo. My Dingo was driven in his workshop in the 90's and was started to be stripped but the turns by hand and is complete. Not sure how much of a restoration I'm going to be doing. Going to try and start her fist and if everything is ok I'll most likely give it a once over and get out and enjoy the experience.

  7. Hi all,

Hoping the forum can be of help. I have recently bought a dingo and is almost complete apart from a few odd bits. The main item I am looking for is one of the aerial mounts to the side of the top armour. It is the aerial mount which looks to have a cage around it. Has anyone got one for sale or know of one for sale. Even a close up photo with some measurements could be of help as I may go down the route of trying to make one as its just for show.

    Thanks in advance

    Steve.

    Try Flux !

Hi, did try them last year but were quite expensive compared to Cherrished. That's why I went with Cherrished last year but they are taking the Mikey this year. Less vehicles but more expensive, I don't think so.

  9. Hi all, help needed.

Just got my renewal from Cherrished Insurance for 2 jeeps and my Dodge wc at £283.66. Not bad for 3 vehicles but have now sold one of the jeeps so only 2 to Insure. Cherrished have now said the Insurance for the 1 jeep and the Dodge is over £290. Any one help with a decent Insurance company who don't take the P**s.

    Thanks in advance

    Steve.

  10. Hi Nick,

Do you know if a WW2 Bantum trailer would have been painted in 'Micky Mouse' camo or left O.D. My jeep is badged up to 11th Armoured in the 'Micky Mouse' camo so would like to make sure its correct.

    Cheers Steve.

  11. Hi all,

Help needed with regards to the eye Lunette on a WW2 Bantum or later jeep trailer. Some say the WW2 trailer had the straight eye lunette and others say even the cranked lunette was WW2. I am in the process of buying a WW2 Bantum trailer which has the cranked hitch on it, Which I always thought was a post war modification. I have a 'Polynorm' trailer with the short hitch but know these are post was trailers. Just need to know one way or the other. I have realized that with the cranked eye hitch the trailer sits at a more level plane with the jeep as opposed the straight eye which has the trailer front diving down to the back of the jeep.

     Cheers Steve.

You are better off with a repro, such as this:

MKVII Brown Waterproof Cape by Kay Canvas (sofmilitary.co.uk)

An original would be grubby, faded and are normally has a degree of hardness as its rubberised canvas. Plus, pricing would start from around double the cost of a copy.

Hi buddy and thanks for the input. I have actually bought one off a guy selling one on eBay. Cost £86 but won the listing, was delivered just over a week ago and very happy with it. Still supple enough to wear with no rips or spits. Said it came in a box full of WW2 items he had bought.

    Cheers Steve.

  13. Hi all,

Hope you can help me find a wearable WW2 Poncho. I am needing one for next year re-enactments. I have looked at most of the military sites, but they all seem to be selling the post war green capes, I'm after the British brownish colour poncho. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Many thanks Steve.

The Victory show is very good, they certainly look after you.

They certainly do. Steve and Natalie Pepper and their crew go out of their way to make sure it's an experience you won't forget. We are all booked in for the 132 mile trip with a convoy of 6 WW2 vehicle's. Can't wait, last year was the best so far. Has always been a fantastic show.

Been talking to a mate who went to the recent Stoneleigh  show, high prices on deacts £14,000 for a .30cal water cooled MG. Stall wise not that impressive with high prices on a lot of things, not like the usual shows they have, may be a reflection on what will be at the W&P show. I was also told by the grapevine that the re-enactors have to pay for the battle display out of their own pocket about £4,000. Gun hire, blanks and pyro. Hardly encouraging to book there.

Yep a few of us went and not impressed with the prices. One bloke had a 50cal mount with the skeleton of the skate and wanted £2000 for it. Obviously he would be taking that home with him. Unlike other years you could have a good barter with the sellers but most prices were firm. My mate bought a pair of ammo boots which had no laces but they had them for sale, asked if he would throw a set of laces in,  he said no but you can buy a set.

  16. Thanks for all your replys. As usual the forum is a wealth of information and help. All sorted now as have managed to source a replacement outer case while I ponder which way to go with the old one.

    Many thanks Steve.
