    too much money in my humble opinion, I don't even value mine at that much. If you look in the background of one the pictures, it looks like another militant hiding away.

    chassis do take loads of paint, how much did you thin it, and how high was the pressure? If you aren't really methodical on a chassis, you can end up repainting the same parts over and over - using loads of paint.

    aargh! Only kidding, looks very, very good What colour is the rest going to be? You'll have to put your slippers on now, so as not to scratch it getting in and out. I know it's going back a few steps.. how did you fasten the panels on? I pop riveted them on mine, and would like to re-do them at some stage with something a bit more appropriate.

    Have you any spare front brake springs? The dart one is probably a temporary measure.

    Hi all, sorry about that, and to add a bit more... it was a front spring I put it on as a temporary fix, just so I could move the wagon out of the garage. If it works, I'd have to do the N/S as well as I'm guessing two different springs might cause brake imbalance?

    just rebuilt the O/S front hub, yes a Dart spring does fit, I'm thinking of getting some proper ones made if anyone's interested?

    Yes full manual, I didn't realise but it is ring bound, so should undo to scan. I could do with making a digital copy, that way it's safe, I've lost count of the times I've mislaid it.

    I have the proper manual, it has loads of pictures! I haven't tried the dart spring, Charlie reckons to have some, but I'd have to find time to go over. Friend of mine with a Matador had some made, which might be a route to go down if Charlie hasn't any? I'm sure some of the other militant owners will want some, unless they are a fortune.

    Rob, don't you have a manual? I'll scan you some if you wish? Should have bought a 6x4, no complication there. Front drum etc just all came apart, last people to touch it, REME I'm guessing, put everything back with plently of grease etc. Shame they didn't replace the brake spring, instead it was lock wired to the top shoe, as the top hook had broken off.

    Looking very good, but you've either got very good with the gear changes, or there was a bit of sly editing going on! Thought you were enthusiastic when you jumped down from the cab, bet you won't do that too often?

    cheers Richard BTW, I thought Routemasters had stopped running in London, but we were there yesterday and saw several. We went to see the newly cleaned Artillery monument at Hyde Park corner, sorry no pics, it was dark when we got there, and it isn't lit, which did surprise me a bit.

    belonged to Richard Grovenor, who was a member on here some time ago. He sold it in the end to Dave Crouch I think, along with his FH70. God knows where it is now.

    No, it was argon. BTW, the bus garages in London, laterly used to charge the Routemaster accumalators with compressed air. It worked, but needed charging more often.

    you could try talking to Routemaster bus owners. These buses have accumulators, and need charging. We did one recently, you need a regulator that goes high enough, and a coupling pipe. We used the gas from the welding set. Read up on it first though.
