When I registered my Ford GPW I had no paperwork with it so I joined the MVT but they wanted to inspect it. where as Rex Cadman gave me a letter based on the chassis no together with some pictures showing the important bits (the cut out on the dash, blocks on the bonnet and rear box covers) and the chassis no as stamped on the frame. My DVLA guy was a real pain to he made me sit out side in late November for over an hour then we had a pointless discussion about the colour after all green is green. Still he gave me the reg no so no problem.

I have just bought a leyland daf from Withams Auction. Does anybody know what the tickover speed should be as the engine warms up the speed drops to the point where it stalls Cold it is 600rpm hot 350. The manual talks about adjusting the throttle pedal. Also what should be the oil pressure be when fully warmed up. Finally there is a wheel wobble that sets in at about 45 MPH a truck tyre man told me that there is no way to balance the wheels as the problem is caused by the tyres as they are designed to go on a rear fixed driven axle. is this so, It came with a service history which suggests that the front axle needs changing every 80k bit of a worry david
