  1. Hi Andy Just getting the prices in now for a new canvas. Where are you based? PM me your number and I will give you a call later today and let you know what I have found out. Thanks Nathan
  2. What a great project, very impressed. Can't wait to see it finished. I don't see any problem in recreating vehicles that don't exist. They have been building new traction engines for quite a few years now. Why shouldn't it be the same for military vehicles. Good luck with the rest of it. :wow:
  3. Just sent in my forms for the show this year. It will be my first time at Overlord as I have done Beaulieu the last couple of years. Heard lots of good reports though and really looking forward to it. Hopefully be the inaugural trip of my newly restored Bedford MWR..........if I get a move on :-) Nathan
  4. I spoke to Rod today from Classic Covers. Very nice guy who sounds like he is up for the job. You were right about the patterns though Julian, I think he would prefer to have the truck so he can fit the canvas to it. Just need to send him some photos. So if anyone has some good detailed close ups of an MW canvas they would be most welcome.
  5. Thanks Chaps I will try some of those suggestions. fayjo65 I have some pics of it on a previous thread with Rippo: http://hmvf.co.uk/forumvb/showthread.php?36668-Bedford-MW-Windscreen Have you got some of your MWD?
  6. Thanks Jules I meant to ask you the other night where you got the one for the Humber done. I have the one off of the Bowser for a pattern for the cab but I would need to see if anyone would lend me a rear tilt to make a pattern from! It was nice quality wasn't it? Nath
  7. Hi there. Does anyone know where else I am likely to get a canvas made for my Bedford I'm restoring? I spoke to Allied at Stoneleigh this Jan and they aren't going to be doing them again for some time it seams! I need the cab and rear tilt making up. I think someone had one done on here recently that I saw and it was a very well made one. Any suggestions most welcome please.
  8. Welcome Jeff Love the photos. Look forward to seeing more. Nathan
  9. I did think that as I was posting it:-) There's a challenge. £500 up for grabs for anyone who can get it restored in time for War & Peace this year. :-)
  10. I don't know if this will be of any use to anyone but this Commer Q4 (I think!) Is currently sitting in our local scrap yard. Not much left of it but it does have the engine and gearbox still in it. Also by coincidence someone else I met today was about to scrap a load of spares for a post war Commer and I said wait in case anyone can make use of them. So if anybody has or knows anyone with a Commer then the spares will probably only cost a pint or two whereas the scrap yard remains may cost a bit more.
  11. Hi John I am getting very tempted to do it out as a MWR. You say you have some of the kit. Could you send me some pics and let me know what you are looking for price wise please? Also I have just started work on the doors today and the two doors have different inner linings, the green one that had the name of the people in Durham has a wooden lining and the blue RAF one has a steel one. Is one correct or are they both correct and from different periods? Thanks Nathan
  12. Hmm that's interesting. Hadn't though of doing the radio back on it. Bob has built a great GS back out of ash. The RAF door is still with it, I have got to restore those next. Interesting fact though. I will have to see what I can find out about it, be nice if it was an MWR. Regards Nathan
  13. Hi John Just wanted to say thanks very much for getting in touch about the MW. I spoke to Bob and after searching thorough his log books they found the green slip but no log book. After speaking to the DVLA they have found the details and I am now in the process of getting a new log book. This has saved me a lot of hassle and I should have it on the road in the next couple of months. Thanks again. Nathan
  14. Thanks very much for posting those. Nice to see it before. Bob has done a lot to it. Not too much to finish off. I noticed it had some number plates on your photos. Had it been registered before do you know? Thanks Nathan
  15. Hi John Thanks for that, yes I think it is 1943. It's definitely the later full type windscreen. I take it there were only the Aero and Full screen versions or were there a few variants? I think we can save it if needs be. Quite a bit of the one side left. Do you have any photos of what it looked like when you had it? Would be nice to see it before restoration. Many thanks Nathan
