  1. They are all 12 volt but have their own distribution panels and manufactured by several different companies using their own engines. There are some pictures etc here. The 500 watt is a bit smaller and there were some very early models which did not stay in production. I would doubt if the 1250 or 500 models would fit on your truck. The Royal Signals Museum was very friendly and helpful sending me copies of manuals. You may wish to ask them.
  2. Regarding the Generator, the next size up from the Chorehorse would be in a frame carried by stretcher type poles. Probably either the 1250 or 500 watt models. Give us measurement of cabinet and I will measure my examples.
  3. No ideal on the tire sizes but obviously the only person having 900X16 tires manufactured with the correct British track-grip tread pattern is Barry Ring. Any NOS Stock now is likely to be at least 30 years old so probably not the best to rely on.
  4. A Humber Mk2 what is the first question. Armoured Car, Scout Car, Light Reconnaissance Car or something Soft skin. Most of the Humber transmission's have cross over's into other Roots Group Vehicles which may supply components or be a direct replacement. Either way you will need to find someone willing to sell you one and transport it to the states. Don't expect to buy any gear boxes off the shelf anywhere. There is a very good Humber FB Group.
  5. It may be small items which which fall off aircraft on landing which might burst a tire or cause other damage such as with the French Concord.
  6. The Turret looks like the standard late pattern which could take 2 Bren's or Vickers K Guns.
  7. If someone has the ability to scan all these catalogues in to allow computer searches please say but obviously a very large job. I gave Clive my collection of catalogues some years ago and its a lot of material to go through manually.
  8. They started using this symbol during the latter part of WW2 when anti-freeze was far from standard and drivers were meant to drain their vehicles on cold nights or periodically start the engines. Quite why it was still required in the 1950's is unclear. I assume your Ferret is an early one?
  9. No longer between Bratton and Westbury or are we talking about the same site?
  10. Providing it is applied correctly this is a very good product. It is effectively a resin coating so providing it does not peel off nothing will penetrate the coating. I have used it on the inside of AFV's which run with moisture during the winter. POR-15 Rust Prevention Paints & Coatings | Frost Auto
  11. If they are a professional group their rank structure will reflect the type of unit they are portraying whether that be an infantry section, platoon or Company etc. Any one portraying an officer even just doing public displays needs to be able to provide the leadership necessary including ensuring compliance with all Health and Safety requirements etc. We have two retired Majors in our group one regular and one reserve, but you don't obviously need to be ex-forces of any rank.
  12. There are plenty of companies that will turn up to petrol station forecourts if you put the wrong fuel in your car so I assume they will do the same for you if you are happy paying.
  13. Presumably now illegal to discharge and useless on the occasion I tried to use one on a Ferret Carburettor Fire. They need to be used in an enclosed space such as the interior of a AFV to build up a layer of gas.
  14. Unless they reopen the bookings for the OMG Tour to fill the spaces of those who have dropped out, its to late now to book. If you are not into Living History its also is not a tour for you. Nothing like a MVT Tour.
  15. I need some Brake Pipe Olives for my DAC and the ones I purchased from e-bay are too long the original being approx. 5.43 mm long. Frost stock the Automec product but after 2 e-mails have not relied to to my enquiries on how long there's are. Does anyone know how long the Automec product is or can suggest a different supplier with the correct ones?
  16. If you have not seen it the Wheels and Tracks article was very informative with lots of pictures of in service vehicles.
  17. I believe they did reach the front in small numbers during 1945 but others disagree with the picture I use to support this claim. I was shown a picture last week of Reccy Corps Soldiers post-war but no later than the Winter of 1945 or Spring of 1946 (no leaves on the trees). This clearly shows Camo Tank Suits but a war-time picture which everyone can agree on remains to be found.
  18. Looking for some of these 1 1/4" Buckles if anyone has any please. Not worried if a bit rusty. Also any odd 1 1/4" straps
  19. The battle is still waged between collectors on whether or not camouflaged Tank Suits saw any service before the end of the war. I was happy with one picture but other say the colouration is staining.
  20. Not run-flats but if you care about having the correct tread pattern they are the only Track-grips in production.
  21. Presumably an RAF Generator Trailer or similar with the fuel Tank.
  22. Most of these Googles do not have the leather you have and you can push out the glass and replace it quite easily with Perspex or suitable glass. If you cannot achieve this without damaging the leather the cost is likely to far outweigh the value of the Googles.
  23. I believe Crouch Recovery broke lots of the Leyland Dafs and had spare tires on rims at one time.
  24. Bamford is Champ Spares on e-bay but he may not have them advertised so worth a call.
  25. Also on e-bay. Champ Spares | eBay Stores
