  1. Tuesday we joined in with the convoy to Saint Mere Eglise. Met up with some folks there Popped into Pont Du Hoc on way back
  2. Sunday we decided as a group to visit Pegasus Bridge. Now my dad has spent the past 18 months learning the bagpipes. Up until then he never played an instrument, he can't sing for toffee either but boy he can play the pipes!!!!! He received a great amount of positive remarks and I'm very proud of him. Bumped into some bloke who said he was someone of great importance!
  3. We had a great time, so here are some photos. Friday we joined the test of the MVT at Portsmouth ferry port The ferry trip went without problems. Arrived in France and were (eventually) met with the Gendarmerie (cars, bikes and helicopter!!!) The convoy went without a hitch all the way to Etreham where we all found our pitches, set up and settled in for the night. Saturday for the cubes was a free day so went shopping for essentials, wine, beer, bread and cheese mainly!!! Later in the day our neighbour's brake hoses collapsed on his jeep so the cubedmeister lent a hand Whilst I supervised!
  4. It was an emotional trip, I still can't actually approach a vet and talk to them, I just don't feel worthy enough 😔 Lots of people, loads of vehicles, had a great time 😊
  5. Well there was about 30 of us in the end. Sadly not all at the same time but here's one of Clives photos.
  6. Well we got there and back with no issues. Hope everyone else did. It was an awesome time, so many people there, lots of Vets, so many MVs it was must have been like 70 years ago to the locals. I will put some pictures up later. If you're on Facebook I've done some on there already (Rosie Rixon)
  7. Does anyone know if there is a formal dress code? One of my friends who will be joining in a parade in Port En Bessin (sp) have been asked to wear period clothing.
  8. Thanks for all the comments. It was a hard slog but we did it. The show wouldn't work if it wasn't for the exhibitors, traders or public. I met loads of new people this weekend and it's been great!!! We will have a club meeting soon and no doubt discuss what went well and what we could do better next year. So, looking forward to seeing you all again next year. Same field just less muddy (hopefully!!!!!!!)
  9. Request noted I will ask them.
  10. It's been a busy day today, perhaps not as busy as other years but defo busy! 6 and half hours on the paying in gate again today and the public seem to be very complimentary to. A great time had by all by the looks of it. One more day to go, field pretty dry-ish! Forecast ok, so hoping for another good turn out.
  11. Each time I've been over I've sat on the beaches and physically felt the spirits of those brave soldiers. If you've been there you'll know what I mean. The cemeteries are just haunting.
  12. Thanks for that. Glad you enjoyed, sad you had to leave early
  13. But it didn't put them off hey?! Good to see you to Andy xxxxx
  14. We'll after a very wet morning the field is somewhat boggy. Although there's been no more rain this morning and the slight breeze is helping to dry it out a tiny bit! Having said that the MOPs are coming through the gate thick and fast and all are cheery and pleasant to deal with 😀
  15. Thanks hunny. It will be a great weekend whatever the weather. It always is. Traders, exhibitors, campers, MOP always ensure that
  16. Thanks! Guess I need to share a box of wine with Mrs Broken arrow then (and I don't share my wine with anyone!!!) Please do the sunshine dance which includes no planned BBQs, no sudden decisions to wash cars or windows, no sudden desires to do a car boot sale or anything that's likely to bring on r**n!
  17. Just got back from visiting the cubedmeister at the show site. Hmmmm it's pretty damp underfoot!!! Wellies are an absolute must. Lots of traders already set up. Several campers to making themselves at home. The show team are working very hard getting the last minute things assembled and sorted. I've still got suitcases to pack, wine to drink, wash bag to sort, wine to drink, first aid kit to put together, wine to drink, washing up to do, wine to drink. When that's all done I might sit down with a chilled glass of wine!!! 😍
  18. Oh we are ok really and don't bite, too hard.
  19. Yes they are but please remember to always keep pouch on a lead, clean up after pooping and of course there will be loud bangs throughout the day as well as vehicles moving around. 😊
  20. Brilliant news! As was said earlier on here, there's plenty of us going over so I'm sure if you did break down (and you won't) someone will give you a tow. Go for it!
  21. That's the spirit. See you on the beaches 😘
  22. Make yourself known to me as I should be on public entrance gate all day Saturday 😊
  23. Fanbloodytastic news. Right non stop now, just over a week to go!!!! Let's get everyone's fingers crossed and get this dodge on the road to France!!!!! 😃
  24. Afraid not! It's not an MVT show. We did honour the MVT entrance fee for a couple years after we first left the main group but that stopped several years ago. 😊
