  1. And would surely invalidate your warranty.
  2. Is redeactivating an expensive task?
  3. Get the inspection plates off, and start getting penetrating fluid onto all the bolts and hinges. At least with all the bins and interior stuff out you will have more room to work on things. Did you find it locally?
  4. Hi guy thanks for that I did see that post. The threaded part looks fine and in fact I have some M10 studding that does the same thing. I am guessing it's the internals of the locking mechanism mick
  5. Are the thick solid lines tubes of some sort? Aerials of some sort, or at least wire or cable around the outsides?
  6. Paul, what format do you want the letter of support? A word document in an email? I think you may have had an easier ride if you were across the border in Woking, their planning dept seem to be a bit more lenient...according to a builder mate, Guildford is a much harder nut to crack! Mick
  7. Does tone have a good commander seat extension thingy. The threaded bar is good, have have made sure everything is clean and free but the retention bit does not hold the seat up when any pressure is put on seat. cheers mick
  8. Once you click on "unread content", at the top right of first post there is "Condensed"
  9. Nice catch Lauren, condensed button makes scrolling through much easier I agree, did not like it at first, I also hate change, but it's growing on me. When you open a post it is easier to read now...a sign of my eyes going? Now I sit back and actually look at it creating or replying to a post appears much clearer. would be shame to lose any older members, it's tough with IT at the best of times, but I implore them to stick with it for all our sakes! Change can be good, keeps our minds active, and something to moan about
  10. Have you tried carbon assembly paste. Use it on my bike and stops things slipping....
  11. What constitutes a hybrid? you can move a Landy on its starter motor if you have it in first with the clutch up. That's electric? 😬
  12. Although the radio body is nice, I want to look at GS types first. I would also like to get one that is as complete as possible....doors etc.
  13. Are the export rules mostly the same for Belgium also?
  14. I have a ferret, fuel consumption does not scare me 😁 I am hopefully viewing one at tanks and trucks, so may have a better idea of what I am looking for after that, thanks for the offer, may take you up on it. mick
  15. Thanks for that, I was hoping it would have been easier maybe I could get seller to delver this side and the sort out transport at this end....again, need a VERY friendly seller
  16. Next question. has anyone here imported one from Holland to uk? How easy and ballpark how much cost is involved. Can I just drive one back and then register it once in uk? What would I need to set in place to get it across the channel? Any advice on getting it registered? cheers mick
  17. Hi Simon, unfortunately will not be at W&P, we are away. Will be at tanks and trucks though.
  18. Thanks Daniel, that UN one looks very complete, doors etc
  19. Thanks daniel sounds perfect! Will be looking at one at tanks trucks and firepower hopefully, need to convince someone I have to also keep the ferret for investment purposes mick
  20. Thanks robin, it will be a little while yet, and I think from your area code you are in Galway? That may be a little too far for me. i think I may have already spoke with those Dutch guys, and it was them that got me interested....they were total nutters, in the best possible way
  21. Thanks guys. Yes the transmission is interesting, but no more odd than a ferret I guess. The fact that no-one seems to have anything bad to say about them is good!!!!
  22. I am thinking of a new MV, and very much like the look of a DAF YA126. Saw one in action at W&P the other year (with some crazy Dutch guys) and was very impressed. What are people's opinions on these trucks? Are the practical (very subjective...relatively practical is probably a better phrase). Good and bad points. Spares availability? Better to get one from Netherlands and import? Many Thanks Mick
  23. Andy Looking at your photos...wouldn't stand a chance of mounting in an uparmoured one (with the extra protection over the bevel boxes)!!! Mick
  24. Hi robin, yes Beirut, Lebanon in 1984 with 16/5 QRL. My particular ferret was handed over from QDG to QRL late 83 (I have been told) and change from green to light stone at that time. i purchased it from an ex-member here who served in it, at that time. He has since, sadly passed away and would like to take it back to when he served as I had promised.
