  1. Hi I did get one in the end from the USA but if you want to sell it there is quite a few m2 cletracs around now that do not have them fitted in the holder on the right hand side (pto generator side) so I would advertise it .

thanks for replying I would have jumped at getting one as mine took long enough to find and identify as correct 👍

  2. Think armour dropped of after Rex as he used to pick up and drop off your vehicle or pay a worthwhile contribution to you to get your armour there .

i would only consider taking my m10 if the show at least made a effort to contribute to transport .

good example over 15 tons ,tanks in town gave you to your costs €1500.

i know some tracked owners that will not go anywhere unless full costs are covered,so there is some nice stuff out there that we don't get to see .

does a show that has reenactments pay for all the blanks used as they can be quite a expense and the reenactments are what draws people in.

if not then I can see why £20 and you have to pay for your own blanks and camping would put you off🤔

I saw that episode on tv and in typical tv fashion, it’s not what it appears to be.

The Halftrack shown is an M3 personnel carrier that someone has made to look like a post war M16A1 by welding in a non standard floor on top of the M3 floor. You can see the home made floor flexing and the M45 moving around. It won’t be long before it breaks free!

It would be more valuable as an m3 with the Maxson and DIY floor removed. It’s also got lots of parts missing including the Maxson shield, they were either ripped off or it was all fake for tv.

Good to see the M2s firing though. Nothings better than watching a 50 cal firing except for maybe 4 of them.

$85k and you do not even get a working speedometer or winch cable.

think they need a new expert to assess the military vehicles they have offered to them .

This link is a bit more straight foward to understand.

    https://movingon.blog.gov.uk/2020/12/09/ban-on-tyres-over-10-years-old-for-heavy-vehicles-and-some-minibuses/

It appears they dropped the 10 year rule on psv's unless they are single wheel at the rear. I suppose, as zero five two said, they couldn't read the date between the tyres.

"Using old tyres on historic vehicles

The new regulations exempt non-commercial vehicles aged 40 years and older from these requirements.

However, you should get all tyres of all ages regularly inspected by a competent person. This should be part of your tyre management and vehicle maintenance system.

Even if an older tyre appears safe, you need to assess and manage any risks associated with its use. A short journey at a low speed when the vehicle is lightly loaded, poses different risks to those involving long journeys, high-speed journeys, or use while the vehicle is laden."

Does look like they have left it open for the authorities to take action if circumstances require, ie old, cracked and loaded or a combination of those. But I suppose that applies to all vehicles.

Hi it would be nice if the current post February 2021 vosa mot testing manual backed up the over 40 year exemption of the tyre rule .

it would make it more black and white for road side checks and when you have to test your 40 year and older hobby vehicle.

I am afraid that Martin is wrong.  You can use an exempt vehicle fully loaded.

    John

I thought this as the wording is referenced, goods ,commercial use.

its the term goods that leads to interpretation.

is a item carried termed as goods only if you are getting a reward for carrying it.

does the item not become goods if it's carried for your own use?

Has this changed since the consultation criteria were released ?

I am sure it stated that if an lgv required an mot it would have include a 10 year life on the steering axle tyres.

Hard to keep up with this stuff, still passes the time...

That is how I read the vosa mot updated manual ,if a hobby or any vehicle 3.5+ ton vehicle is presented for mot it has to have 10 year or less to pass.

but why does government rules say any thing over 40 years is exempt from 10 year tyre rule knowing any 3.5 + ton post 1960 hobby vehicle or not needs to be tested .

if they fail vechiles on tyres they should have worded that mot exempt vechiles are also exempt tyre 10 year rule?
