Hi john here just used the RL that I come across in a field a few months back, to recover the unimog that I found stuck in a woodland last June.There both all mine now but I will be needing a few parts for the 404 mog and a few tins of paint , but getting it out was the best fun this year [attachment deleted by admin]

Looks like I better sort my shorts out then,by the way do both your front screens open ?only the drivers one does on mine,and I am still having some trouble with the electrics,fixed the hazards ,indicaters,fog and reversing lights but know the fuel gauge and brake lights have stopped working.also is yours wired positive earth?

Hi thanks for the info ,its amazing what you can find out ,even down to the milage when it was sold off.by the way the spedo now reads 7950 so its still quite low.got my insurance sorted now so I have just got to sort the MOT out and I can move it from the field that its sat in for the last 3 years.the only problems that I can find at the moment are electrical,no horn ,indercaters,window wipers seized up and the charge light is staying on.apart from that it purrs like a kitten
  9. Hi,just come back from starting the RL for the first time the engine sounds as sweet as a nut,had a good look over it ,cant seem to find a chassie plate but the vin no is RLHC,34993T

Hi totallmike,yes it still has the 351 windser lump in it (about 10 to the gallon) what I am really looking for is a 4 wheel drive one,as the back end is so light i keep getting stuckin the mud all the time,and as my kids have grown up I could get away with a 2 door with the small bench seat in the back,
  11. Hi,space not really I have 2 standard off road parking spaces(both full at the moment) anything else has to go in the street so as you can probably guess my neighbours dont like me very much(just jealous I think)by the way here is a shot of my every day ride [attachment deleted by admin]
  12. Hi,yes I do mean the mog,the rl might get a new coat of paint and a bit of spit and polish but apart from that it all seems ok,Idid have a quick walk round the nuclear bunker show last year but I got there late on sunday it was raining and most people were packing up.did see a nice ql though

Hi,ian ,yes the Bedford will be the first to move ,its a runner just gave £800 for it ,got to sort out the mot then I can bring it home(dont think its mot exempt as the number plate dates it to 1966.)the mog is a different story when the rl is legal I will use that to shift it,but then I would like to take the body off so I can have a proper look at it,any suggestions would be welcomed, [attachment deleted by admin]

Hi everyone ,I am john and I live on the east London essex borders ,I have already posted a question in the british vehicle page,as for my own interest in military stuff ,I just like old machinery anything will do as long as I can play with it.most of the trucks that I find have been sitting around for a few years, or are abandond. And I get fun from getting them going playing with them for a bit then trying something else. here is a quick list of some of the things military that I have had 1938 borgward german staff car bedford j type royal navy ambulance gaz 69a 4 door staff jeep ford f350 usaf truck a couple of ex home office series ones and the 2 that I have just found within the last few weeks are an ex afs bedford rl and a radio bodied unimog hope this might be of interest to someone,cheers john

Hi,thanks for that,now I know why I couldnt find the plate ,there is a storage box right in front of the place on the chassie where it must be,.by the way another recent find of mine is an ex military unimog,found this one about 2 months ago in a woodland in north Essex,best thing of all I managed to blagg this one for free but it does need a small bit of work on it,cheers john [attachment deleted by admin]

Hi everyone just joined this site and here is my first question.I have just found an old RL in a field and done the deal,the thing is on the logbook it is regesterd in 1966 ,but I am trying to find out when it was made .So has anybody got any info on where to find the no,s on the chassie and how to date it,cheers john.
