Looked to day on karki imports website and they have pictures of a crossland oil filter to fit all B series engines, any body know the part number as they are avaliable here.I also need a wireing diagram as a few items are not working.I have just finished a landrover 110 desert patrol vehicle and its time to start looking at the pig.It Military Reg is 13BK37 and its a MK 2 uparmoured .it was ok when parked up but now the gears will not select any suggestions. 6. Can anybody copy me a wiring diagram for a land rover 110 defender v8 snatch. The additional wiring is not the problem so a normal military v8 diagram would be fine. Toby

  8. Hi all, I finished restoring a Series 111 12v VPK last year. The suspension was fitted with aleron bump stops all round.when restoring the chassis i noticed that there was extra reinforcing plate welded to the rear cross member for the weight of the fiberglass armoure. The fibre glass panels were bolted on by two fitters with basic hand tools. The material makralon is like a very thick perspect sheeting that was used for the roof hatch surround. The body work panels are made from multiple layers of heavy duty fibreglass. My landy left the factory in late 1984 as a 12 volt GS.It was converted into a vpk in 1986,then up graded in to a HVVPK With steel armoure and a single piece rear door. Some time between 1989 and 1993 it was down armoured to a VPK and refitted with twin rear doors. Most VPK bodies were transfered from vehicle to vehicle as they were sold off.Mine only servived because it was to be scrapped and left on the vehicle and sold to a dealer.Ihave been told that Mark cooks was the only 1/2 one left and that went to Ireland.I have a copy of the fitting instruction up the loft some were,i will have a look.A few pictures of the before and after. It was featured in Land rover owner international December 2010 Toby
  9. I remember it being on the TV it was on when channel four had just started.I asked my dad about it and as if by magic he had recorded it on video.I had a friend at work transfer it to DVD Its about an hour long and it basicaly tells the story of jeff hawke bringing five not very airworthy B25 From all corners of the USA to England for filming. On the way they had problems with old raylon tyres giving out, engines that wont start, wings iceing up,and original WW11 radios packing up.Hawkes Aircraft only had short range tanks fitted so he strapped a pair of 45 gallon drums and a hand pump to pallets and loaded them into the bomb bay.A amazing jounery and a amazing man. Toby
  10. Thinking of putting my Ser111 VPK/HVPK land rover up for sale to fund the Humber pig restoration.Does any body Know Of A military Vehicle Restorer/Servicer in the northampton area. Toby
  11. Hi Clive, I think that i should be able to rebush them at work.I will pick them up from you on sunday Toby
  12. Tried the gears today when i moved it all seams to engage ok.first gear selected 4wd ok .What position is the 4wd lever in when you are traveling in rear wheel drive.Started ok but the engine cuts out and will not restart.Problem with the fuel pump petrol getting by the diaphram and thining the oil down. Also fuel tanks dirty.Plan of action: 1.Remove fuel pump and repair 2.replace engine oil and filter. 3.clean out pipe from filter to carb 4.Remove fuel filter and clean out 5.Refit filter and connect pipe from filter to carb.Reit a spare bango to filter inlet and run a pipe from a jerry can to get the engine running. Is there a fuel switch over tap fitted or does the fuel pull from both tanks Are there fuel senders in both tanks. Will add some pictures latter this week Toby
  13. Going to pick the pig up tomorrow on the back of a foden drops truck.I am not going to run the engine until i have to move it onto the drops pallet. The fuel pump has got a faulty diaphram and is filling the sump with petrol. My gear stick is missing the gear knob.what i need to know is the gear positions.I understand that first gear selects 4wd.does it disconect when put into second gear.Does the other lever on the floor selects 4wd And what position does it have to be in for normal travel. Does anybody do a fuel pump rebiuld kit or can it be repaired.I read some were that a land rover diaphram can be modified Regards Toby
  14. As promised a few pictures of the restored Ex-Northern Ireland VPK land rover
  15. yes it was the one on e-bay.It was just screaming out to be restored. Not just left out to rot.Going to pick it up with a Foden 8x6 drops truck in the next two weeks.first job is to replace the fuel pump diaphram, then replace the oil.At the time of testing the sump was gaining oil.(petrol leaking through the pump and into the sump)and smoking a bit when you rev it up Hopefully the oil change will do the trick.water temperature stayed in the middle so seams ok. Only thing that is worrying me at the moment is will i be able to find the missing parts.Clive said that he may have a fuel filler cap.I hope that i can get all the bits. The following parts are still needed. 1Gear nob.dont know wear the gears are.does first gear engage four wheel drive and act as a crawler gear. 2x battery boxs with the lids 1x gear box tunnel cover Maybe a full set of seat belts Second job will be to spray WD40 around all the door and hatch surrounds to free them off.Front Hatches wont open but the two pumps seam to build pressure up so i will disconnect the two rams. and try to open them A good steam clean down sould shift all the crap. The box section behind the head lamp panel has rotted but these should be easy to fabricate.thr radiator seams to hold its water and has been filled with anti freeze.its going to be parked up in a barn over the winter so should be out of the weather. What other areas do i need to look at ? The plan is to run through all the mechanical bits fist and get it running. I really need to look at other pigs to get a good idea how to drive one properly and to see what i am missing. so wear abouts are you all. Regards Toby

  19. Just joined the forum after spending three and a half years rebuilding a Ex - Northern ireland VPK Land rover.I was then getting bored with nothing to do so another project was needed.I wanted to keep with the NI theme. So I brought a mk11 humber pig.Reg No:31BK58 from a advert on milweb.Does any body know of its past history.Engine runs ok but the fuel pump is leeking petrol into the sump thining the oil down so may be a diaphragm problem !!.There are also Some parts missing. 1x fuel filler cap seatbelts (did they fit them as time went on) Battery boxes and lids Gear box tunnel cover 1x locking rods of the back door and possibly other parts as i go along. Cannot find a indicator switch is it on the right hand side .I think it may be the lever that is missing. Also the layout of the lay out of the switch panel what does what!!! Can any one tell me the start up procedure.Any interior pictures and advice will be more than welcome. Is there any other pig owners in the Northamptonshire area that i can come and take pictures from.As soon as i can i will load some pictures of the Pig and the VPK Is it true that Clive is the King of the humber pigs afont of all knowlege
