  1. Could anyone point me in the right direction for some stencils for the census numbers for an airborne jeep. I also need a pegasus metal badge/plate that you see on most airborne jeeps. It is to hide a rough bit on a panel. Usual size about 5" x 5". Any advice greatly appreciated. I have left the preparation for this years Arnhem event until the last minute so playing catch up. Regards.
  2. Go to the 'Airborne Battle Wheels Oosterbeek' website. From what you have said it is exactly what you are looking for. However they don't allow modern tents or modern campervans on the actual campsite. Some people do attend with modern vans to sleep in and park in the car park, though it is frowned upon. Hope this helps.
  3. Thanks Tony. I think I may have found a source for one in the UK that comes highly recommended. I really didn't want to have one shipped in from the US with all the extra expenses involved. Regards Chris.
  4. Thanks Niels. I saw that on ebay, but with postage from Holland it seemed rather expensive.Regards Chris.
  5. thanks Hoseman. I have tried to PM you back but I think your mailbox may be full.Regards Chris.
  6. Hi.. Would anyone on the forum know who is making quick release adaptors. I have searched but can't seem to find the old thread that was on here a year or two back. Regards Chris.
  7. Surprisingly... No answer yet!!!
  8. He has just replied saying he is in Modbury Devon. I have now asked him for more pictures and a contact number.
  9. The season is upon us once again for the Welbike scams... This time it is for engine casings with the No. XXE3852. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/151840637001?euid=a63236c1862c4ea0941eb11f1c6adf3d&cp=1&exe=12742&ext=32470&sojTags=exe=exe,ext=ext I could be completely wrong but I don't think so as a Welbike with that engine number was sold at auction in Wisconsin August this year. http://motorcycleslog.com/asp/Item.asp?soldid=284064&make=Other+Makes&theday=8%2F18%2F2015 I have just emailed the seller to see if I can view the casing!! I wonder if I will get a reply??
  10. I am hoping to take the cross country route from Brighton on Saturday morning, avoiding all the chaos.. Does anyone know where the entrance to the public campsite is? I have not booked yet (so don't have the info pack they send out) and I am just going to turn up and pay for the weekend. Just slightly worried that if I turn up to the wrong entrance on the morning of the busiest day of the week, it may take me ages to get back to the right entrance with everyone elso using the back roads to avoid the M20.
  11. Nice thought.. Welbike in a can. However if I do jump, the Welbike will be safely on the ground waiting for me.. Fuel tanks pumped and ready to go!
  12. Funny you should say that..If it all goes well this year, I am seriously thinking about training to do the jump for next year... Most be something to do with turning fifty.
  13. Anyone taking their welbikes to Arnhem? I am praying mine will be ready/finished for the ferry on the 18th, and we will be camping with the ABWO guys in Oosterbeek.. Anyone else going with a welbike. It's my first time so may need advice. Regards Chris.
  14. Whilst doing my usual search for welbike bits, I noticed this. http://www.icenicam.ukfsn.org/eventsh/130721.html VMCC Founders day. 21st JULY2013. Look at the seventh photo down. Is this where the original bike came from?
  15. Back on Craigs list London. http://london.en.craigslist.co.uk/fod/4415909024.html
  16. Thanks Ron for the reply.. However as you know the Devil is in the detail... I would hate to spend ages sourcing a Corgi part to find out it is wrong.. Would anyone else know?
  17. Could anyone please confirm if an early Brockhouse Corgi twist grip is exactly the same as a Welbike twist grip or just similar? I read a thread somewhere saying they were the same, however I know nothing about Corgi's.... Regards Chris

    Stollen Welbike

I've just noticed she's back up for sale on craigs list Glasgow.. Posted 17/01/14. £1500..
  19. If you go onto Youtube and type in 'Race to the Bridge 2013'... You will see a 9 min 48 sec video by MrBuzzzfuzzz. if you scroll to the 5 min 50 sec bit I think you will find what you are looking for.. Regards Chris
  20. Are these parts still 'lost' or did the 'Dutchman' ever get them back? I was just wondering if there was a frame number of the frame that went missing so as to be sure of a positive ID, as I am still looking at supposedly original frames from Delhi and would hate to get burnt.. I know that the scams are becoming alot more common these days but I would only part with money after physically seeing the bits. Any help would be much appreciated. Regards Chris.
  21. Well since he was using the pics of a welbike that sold for £6601.00, he knows how to bait a hook!
  22. I may be wrong about this but I doubt it!! I got quite exited about an original looking welbike that I had just found posted on Craigslist Belfast (I had just google'd welbike for sale, as I often do on the off chance) http://belfast.craigslist.co.uk/mcd/4156108333.html then it dawned on me that it looked rather familiar and I remembered this one sold on ebay in Aug this year... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1942-MkII-Excelsior-Welbike-british-airborne-forces-WWII-paratroopers-bike-jeep-/221268350615 Buyers beware.. Did anyone enquire about it... Apparently it was found in a Barn that I assume was in Herts, but also in this guys Uncles garage in Belfast two months later... Maybe the Uncle bought it, put it in his Garage to restore but died before he got round to it, from where it was found by his nephew after the funeral to then put on Craig's list.. If by any chance you live in Belfast and your Uncle has just died and who happened to be a WW2 military vehicle enthusiast... I am truly sorry! Regards Chris
  23. Merry Christmas to one and all..
