  1. Hi Richard, I've since been told the same. Apparently MK ones have a spring loaded retainer at the top. As John1950 points out they would be quite easy to make, they're only a bit of bent tube at the end of the day
  2. I am looking to get hold of a pair of Bedford MK type Mirror Arms, like these Anyone got any? Know of a supplier?
  3. Nice to get a result every now and again, good for morale. 👍
  4. Haven't been on the forum for quite a while, so only just caught up with your trials and tribulations. Certainly can't say you have a boring life!! But what a shame to have a failure like that on your first run out. Truck does look good, mate, a real credit to your hard work, and most of it done on the driveway at home, not in a fancy workshop. A real well done. Hope the donor chassis does contain something useful, and you get back on the road soon 🤞
  5. For sale, Hand held spotlamp, inspection lamp. 24volt with long lead and 2 pin plug, also has mounting bracket and magnetic stand. Looking for £75 ONO Plus postage.
  6. I have a bracket. It'll need a bit of a spruce up, been in the shed for a while. Yours for a tenner plus postage. PM me if it is any good to you
  7. Was the D4 replaced by the TM 70 or were they about the same era?
  8. Many thanks for the reminder, that's stirred some good memories. The course photo, done a few of those. I was part of the MAN 2 team for a couple of years '92, 93 looking after Sect Comd and Plt Sgt courses. Recognise at least one young Sapper in your picture
  9. I can't believe I don't remember the D4 at all. I must have gone past it hundreds of times over the years.
  10. There was one at the Gillingham Business Park, on Ambly Road, just up by the DVSA Test centre. Might be that one
  11. I take it you mean the one outside the Pondarosa, I thought that was a D6?
  12. This is a Caterpillar D7, albeit without blade etc, looks a good deal like the one in your picture
  13. Found these while clearing out the shed recently. I think they are from a Thompson 1000 gallon Water Bowser or R.E. water purification set. 2" diameter with brass male and female threaded end fittings, about 3m long. They are NOS but must be a good few years old as they are labelled for the Central Ord Dept Old Dalby, Leicestershire, and that went a long time ago. £50 ONO for all 3 Collect from Sittingbourne ME10
  14. Well chuffed with it, famous again. I didn't actually write the piece, despite what it says. Must've done something right, trophies at Brighton, magazine article, Newark show. Having a hell of a year so far
  15. I'm told numbers were down on previous, lot of people put off by price of diesel, I guess
  16. Should have said hello, that's me in the hi-vis jacket there
  17. Thanks Tim. It was a great day out. Nice drive down and parked on Madeira Drive in the sun shine. Chuffed to bits to come away with the two pots. First in class and the Charles Banfield Challenge Cup. Next outing is the AEC Rally at Newark 28-29 May. Good road test that is, 6 hour drive to get there. Can't wait.
  18. Can't be long now before you get to try it. Presume you are looking forward to getting out and about with it. Richard and Charlotte did the canvas on my Tanker, lovely people and very good at the sewing thing.
  19. There's one here, if you fancy a serious restoration!! It is in a bit of a state, but looks complete apart from the cab which has disintegrated completely See thread "Elephant Graveyard" It was still there earlier this year. If it is of interest to you PM me for details
  20. Thanks for the info Sean. I never heard it called a 600 wallet or similar, but of course it would have an official form number. We simply referred to as the Works Ticket. The Tanker has a separate storage box for the drivers handbook. As you can imagine for a Tanker it is quite a substantial volume.
  21. Evening all, Would anybody have one of the canvas Works Ticket Holders, they wouldn't mind parting with for a suitable fee? I need one to go in the Militant Tanker. Any advice on the paperwork that should go inside would also be welcome. Many thanks in advance
