  6. Amazing restoration thread , I really enjoyed reading about it . :-) I wondered if you realised there was Pathe footage of Lloyd carriers on exercise available to watch ?
  7. Reading all the comments about how far away people travel to the War and peace Show , I just wanted to say that I've travelled from Edinburgh for the last 7 years to visit the show . Granted I don't drive a vehicle to the show , but I do travel by public transport for most of the way , then linking up with MV owning friends for the 'last bit' , then staying on site for at least 5 days . If I didn't bother with the show I wouldn't learn new stuff about vehicles , have a good laugh with mates - and not see folks year to year . I'm really looking forward to W&PV 2013 and its new style !:-)
  8. Hi all , just following instructions as my password had expired as I've not visited the site for ages . I look forward to catching up with a few folk :-) cheers rik
  9. A reinactor was badly burned in 2010 when a charge went off in his hand instead of in a mortar pipe , everyone else in the area had ringing ears for an hour afterwards . This happened in the living history area when the reinactors were getting filmed . The cause of the incident was the cameraman saying your wristband is in view , this delayed the dropping of the charge in the pipe . nasty !
  10. Looks like its going to be above wellies in many places . Time to find the waders !
  11. Slightly different , subject how long did the British Empire actually stay in Iran ?
  12. I've had to change my password as I'd not visited for ages lalala, and I rarely post anything as its not my field of expertise, and now you have to post something otherwise you can't gain forum access . regards Rik
  13. Hi all I've viewed this site from a friends pc and have been to a few events in England though a number of years ago . I've been quite regular at Beltring and I'm looking forward to this years . I've no vehicles of my own , and no plans to get any in the near future , unless I win the lottery ! Military vehicles are a side hobby and I find the engineering side of things the more interesting . I've really enjoyed looking through the restorations section and appreciated the enormous amount of work that goes into keeping the vehicles going . cheers Rik
