  1. Anther cold day at work shop but got on with rebuilding the steering box striped off the springs cleaned all the axle U bolts and recut the threads sorted the spring base plates and got all the bits in primer tomorrow will paint them in colour ready for fitting Steviem give me a ring later
  2. just see your post a lot of people do not have the vent pipes fitted m201 , m38 , m38a1 need the coil cooling the pipes run from the air filter to manifold and keep it all cool i have changed many jeep to a war time type dizzy all the parts are a lot cheaper and you can run j8 plugs and much better ht leads
  3. hang on till i phone universal jeep tomorrow also i need to get the parts for your steering box
  4. i was going to try universal wheels are £140 tyres will have to come from john
  5. hang on till its all striped and clean then will sort out a list going to order the wheels and see if i can get 2 spring hangers no one seems to have any
  6. A very wet day at the workshop so no out side work today so i have made some new late war time pedal pads and a new radio junction box and started to strip down the steering box needs new cross shaft and bearings

Having taken delivery of Steviem jeep to work on it for him the photos are over the first 2 days first day was body off engine and gear boxes out of the frame axles and springs off then its start to cheque the frame and what a mess lots of bits welded on so cut them off and the back end fell off its only the angle iron holding it together, day 2 cut the old bits off with the back cross member and extra scrap then jigged up the frame and welded up one side fit new cross member then cut off the scrap off the other side need to find 2 spring hangers as the threads have been worn away will keep you updated as we go on all the best stay safe jerry
  8. its a lot bigger i make my own they are easy to make wire tube you can use 22mm copper pipe and 22mm compression fittings to fit to the box and jeep floor ford and willys wire tubes were bent in a different place

A half track well lets go there 1, very bad miles per gallon 2, 1000 miles on a set of tracks 3, 4x replica 50 cals or even worse 4x real 50 cals 4, a load of 50 cal ammo boxes 5, 4x gun solenoids for the guns 6, and last if you hit the car next door there is f**k all of it left stick to the jeep more fun and will go under the barrier at Tesco's

Anther day or so on the GPA if your thinking of getting one think twice as they are not as easy as a standard jeep had the make both water pipes and some other bits tomorrow its the fuel line to the filter and going to make the brake pipes i am only going to fit them to the front axle to test run the jeep around the yard

  14. the gpa has 4 compartments front this is in front of the wheels around the radiator centre this is under your feet and to the back wheels and two at the back either side of the prop tunnel and you have to pump them out by hand pump the i found some in the photo you can see the compartments the front of the gpa is at to bottom of the photo
  15. this is the suction pipe for the front tank need to sort this one out got some holes and its 8 " short rusted away
  16. were the two leavers for the pump and prop are on the out put drive there is a dog type cog this is the hand starter when you are in the water i have put it back to front will change it next week

  18. Anther weekend working on the gpa both axles finished and steering what a job fitting the hand start you build it up then you have to take it all off to fit the hand starter that works through the propeller shaft
  19. i have got a full floor i am not fitting was going back to jeeparts then lockdown if you need
  20. yes still taking on work i am finding parts are starting to get harder as dealers are running out of parts so the jobs are taking a bit longer to do like blasting
  21. with this new lock down i have started the ford gpa with the frame, if you have never done a gpa you build it so you can drive the frame around work out all the snags then remove the axles, springs then put it all the the hull seal it all and refit the axles and hope there is on leeks had to make some of the spring hanger washers on the myford lathe and had to make a spring hanger as one was missing its coming along this is day 2 of the build keep safe and keep building
  22. sorry steve about your mum i lost mum and dad within 10 weeks of each other last year think of all the good times do the jeep for your mum all the best to you and your family jerry
  23. as for the top hats what i do is remove all the wet wood weld a heavy wall tube were the body bolt holes are then fill them up with expanding filler foam from tool station water will never get in when its all dry then seam seal joints and under the body were you never see stone chip paint this you can over paint
  24. get your self some weld through primer paint both sides then weld up this is the type I have
  25. the parts come from MD juan why get them from France all the uk dealers have them and most of the suppliers except for jeeparts who are the md juan out let in the uk get the parts from jeep village or Jeepsudest save the shipping from France
