The ambulance is SOLD, but I know that Haflinger Technik in Lanark info@haflingertechnik.com has at least one other 718 same box body without side doors and windows which may work better as an overlander. I think that the army were not very pleased to have one aircrew with three medics in an exceptional 6x6 when their soldiers were 4 up in a Defender with one medic. So I am told!

I have also fully serviced it with genuine Pinzgauer parts and had professionally fitted the usual new cambelt, water pump pulleys, belts etc. I have also fitted two new 95Ah heavy duty batteries (with 4 year warranties) ahead of this winter. It has a new MoT with no advisories.It's only done under 50,000 miles since entering service, having been manufactured on 30 March 2000. The AWDC (www.awdc.co.uk) has another 3 Heavies Driveround dates on the specialist military site at Bordon for 2010. Slab is just off the A325, south of Farnham. http://www.multimap.com/s/h7SAZ77f These are on Sundays 4 July, 12 September and 21 November. Previously, vehicles have included Kraz, Stalwart, GMC, Bedford, Pinzgauer, Foden, Unimog, Ural, Scammell and the odd army Conqueror and Centurion! They have joined the 'normal' 4x4s which are welcome, too. Membership of the AWDC is required to drive and events cost £30 per person for a year. Sorry, no private tracked vehicles are allowed.
