  1. Undeniable that it looks wonderfully authentic in that livery. What are your plans for it. Keeping it in that scheme or back to original layout? MB

Definitely British - Boer war period- Yeomanry. As sent to the address to a house in Hackney when it was in Middlesex as the now London postal districts are defined - this is the MIY the- Middlesex Imperial Yeomanry. Wonderful cards. I'm Hackney born and bred myself. MB
  3. And..... Lots more happening here. It was a good laugh strolling about and in between all this I finally got to buy myself an SMLE. In case you don't know him the bloke in Johnson's in the hat is Big John a snapper from one of the bike mags. I only ever see him at WP.
  4. More.... We took a decision on the Photo Team to do the stalls on our first day. I really like the graphic element of some these snaps. We had fun getting Mr Johnson to pose up.
  5. One type photos are boring. Here we go with the snaps I took on the Tuesday - excluding bikes and cars. There is a fair mix in this first batch. Nice to see a few familiar faces.
  6. Nope. I was mostly conventional. But I had my moments and they will come. I've been busy writing reviews for a website. Watch this space.
  7. There you are. Collectors buy the pix individually. So, if you want to keep the album together - you have to buy it whole. Tough one. Personally, as an photo librarian/archivist by profession - I would not want to see it broken. But these things need researching and kept. If they go to military museums - paid for and donated by you, they end up in a file, invariably - not displayed and hardly seen - depending on what you think of as seen or used. if you are going to become a collector, this might be where you start. 8. They vary. You should be able to get him down. 30 quid is a lot of money. But if you think the pics are worth it, go for it. These albums are worth saving. Otherwise they end up in bins. Serious collectors buy them and the pix end up in books published by the likes of Pen & Sword - so it isn't a daft thing to start collecting. MB
  9. Post a few snaps! That would make your report even more special, please.... Cheers Mark
  10. Here's a good page from the Blue Star Line website. Coincidence as my grandfather worked for Blue Star and one of his old ships, the Arandora Star was lost in tragic circumstances in 1940 with huge loss of life - the Arandora Star. http://bluestarline.org/lamports/vandyck3.html MB
  11. I snapped more things on two wheels than ever this year.....
  12. Last batch of cars. Next lot will be motorcycles, which I really got into at this show.
  13. I've started with cars and will continue in blocks of subject matter as it suits me....
  14. This could be fun. Knowing how rubbish I always was at adding photos - it's time for me to begin putting up my snaps. Have patience.
