  1. Just checked the NSNs for the hook on the Hernia bar on the Eka in case it helps LV7SL 2540998288874 for the hook. Another 21 NSNs for the remainder if you need them..

    P-Clip Supplier?

I've used Westfield Fasteners before - look under hose clips jubilee clips, and hose clamps. A4 has worked well in a marine environment for me. https://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk/HoseClip.html Also good for proper A4 items which last forever. Toby
  3. I thought it was an excellent show. Well done Andy, Matt, Donna, John and all the team. With much thanks to the REME Museum for their Conqueror, M578 and little trailer.
  4. You may wish to try some marine glazing companies such as sea glaze. While much is done in perspex, they will be used to odd shapes. There is also a company in Poole? That may do it. T
  5. I have a Scammellers book by Nicky Armstrong for sale. Has its original carboard box. £15 + P&P.. Item in mid Hampshire.
  6. Dear all, Work had an excellent conference and development day at the REME Museum in Lyneham the other day. Very happy with the facilities and the staff were first class. We used the opportunity to tour the museum and use it in a vignette. Excellent value and highly recommended. There is a cafe on site for refreshments as well. https://www.rememuseum.org.uk/ Toby
  7. FBW are Swiss. Spoke to an owner who said they were RHD so the driver could see the edge on narrow mountain roads.

    W+P 2022 ?

It's Capel for me. Went last year and friendly staff and good show. The REME museum Cent ARV on John's Contractor and REME Museum little trailer will definitely be there.
  9. Beautiful Diamond T open cab tank transporter tractor towing 2T Rubbery Owen trailer heading East at Winchester on A31/A272. Going to Capel?
  10. I believe on Panther, the field solution was to put a pack strap around the run flat and make it into a fig 8. Would need levering or pack strap at 90 degrees to original to extract from tyre. I assume the run flat is a doughnut. T
  11. The brakes should not be binding that quickly through heat. If I understand correctly, then they are OK from cold, but bind after a small amount of use, hence searching for a one way valve type of effect. Besides, a hot drum ought to expand out more than in. Have you checked the old shoes and done a size comparison?
  12. I assume all 4 brakes are binding. It seems as if brake fluid is being pumped to the brakes but not returning. In addition to Richard's suggestions, check Flexi hoses common to all 4 wheels. Internal failure can happen (and has happened to me) in this way. Easily checked by pumping brakes till they bind then crack brake end of Flexi hose and see if they release. Clearly bleed properly before going on road. Good luck. Toby
  13. Thanks, I do mean the input shaft oil seal. Taking the old one out is definitely plan B if I can't get a seal before stripping it. Anything of the right size I have seen available looks an odd shape, hence why knowing will be useful.
  14. Dear all, the diff pinion oil seal on the middle axle of my Crusader EKA needs replacing. I have tried the Manufacturer's Part Number (5091-257) and the NSN (5330-99-819-3008) from the ISPL through google and the suppliers I can find but no joy. Does anyone have a drawing of the seal or know of a someone who sells them? Does anyone also have the EMER or AESP for the job or know if any special tools are required and any relevant torque settings. Thanks in advance Toby
  15. Been watching this with interest. Most impressive. For filling hubs and axles, I have taken an old gas bottle. The fitting at the top is the filler hole, and when full, it has a soldered copper pipe which screws into the original thread. The outlet of this goes on a suitably long flexible hose with a tap in the end. A Schrader valve is tapped into the gas bottle. So, just add a few psi of air pressure and you can then climb under a vehicle and simply turn the tap, giving full control. Works from Land Rovers to Scammells. Toby
  16. If struggling to get the glass, you could try marine screen manufacturers such as Seaglaze, as they have to make up bespoke screen and window shapes all the time. Toby
  17. Rob, it didn't sound at all like that, no problem. I hoped I hadn't sounded like that, so all good. I am Hamble based boat wise and Solent stomping ground. Planning to be at Cowes week when I have put the boat back together. I will see if I still have the MBY issue. Best Toby
  18. Robert, Thanks for the heads up, no intention to teach you to suck eggs! Fairline 36 boat report was Feb 83 Motorboat and Yachting if of interest. Mine's a Fairey Spearfish. Toby
  19. I would remove the engine first and then put a damp meter all over the hull. Getting it under cover will help it dry out. I would sort the hull first, then the drivetrain then the cosmetics. Think ahead with the hull; is the foredeck cleat big enough and strong enough to be towed from? Where are the bilge pumps and their outlets going to go etc. Back end looks more medium than deep v. Add the Jag engine and stern drive and that suggests it was designed as a ski boat. The stern drive bellows need replacing every 2 years, as failure equals sinking. If you are going to sea as opposed to a lake, then worth considering adding a bracket for an aux outboard when you redo the transom. A secondary means of propulsion is a no brainer at sea. Happy to advise further if you wish.
  20. I think it is CVR(T) Sultan and possibly Spartan to go over the exhaust when in a hide. Probably for thermal reasons when charging batteries and to help stop camnet catching fire.
  21. For clarity, Warrior was developed by GKN and has the RR CV8 and Allison box. It has single pin track with one pad per link and torsion bar suspension. AS90 was developed by VSEL before they merged under BAE and has the Cummins VTA903 engine and ZF box. It has a totally different hull that is bigger than Warrior. It has double pin track with 2 pads per link with hydrogas suspension. In service, no-one would go to the effort of trying to see if the Main Assemblies were interchangeable.
  22. For those who use radios, the new Ofcom proposals are worth a read as they will affect your radio licence. You should note the consultation period has expired. If you type in Ofcom EMF you should find it. It is about separation from the base of the antenna to people to keep them safe from EMF For a 25W marine VHF radio it is 2.04m using the Ofcom calculator. For a small boat, or military vehicles this separation will be difficult to achieve. If this is going to cause a problem, you can make a representation to Ofcom. This will be particularly relevant for marine VHF and heavy haulage escorts and taxi drivers.
  23. Warrior and AS90 are completely different. Very little will be compatible apart from obvious items like weapon clips.
