  2. Thanks Flynn I'm sorry I only have the one jack extension its the only one I found in four years of searching and I too am looking for a petrol dipstick, again hav'nt seen one in all the time I've been restoring the truck will make one when I get the time.
  3. Thanks Alex Still small jobs to complete, had to make up and fit the strap for the jack. And have the engine bay trays to fit as well. And have started to work quietly on the spare engine.
  4. Hi Richard Might be usefull to use near side and off side when when relating to fuel tanks , I think the fuel cap you need is the left hand green one, if you need another I have a couple of spare ones. Here some pics of my leftover fuel tap. Will email you the pics of the MWC I had a good look at when I visited East Kirkby last wkend.
  5. Thanks Tom :-D Another day tinkering with the truck, did some touch ups to the paint. Decided to fit a pair of tracgrips on the front so it has a matching set of tyres.
  6. Thanks guys Managed to fit the tonneau to the rear body this wkend plus had to swap out the dizzy as it failed to proceed It seems to run a lot better with the "new" DU6A Lucas unit fitted Luckily the canvas just clears the stop / tail lights, have a pair of trac grips to fit on the front , will be interesting to compare the difference in steering / handling. Just need to get it out for some more shake down runs , then fabricate the bow hoops.
  7. Thanks for the kind comments, on the whole it's been a blast, made some good friends and learnt a lot along the way as for another resto ? No I don't think I'll be doing anything major again I'll start to spend more time maintaining and enjoying the vehicles I have, four is enough, plus you can only drive or ride one at a time :-D plus I can't think of anything else I desperately want to own /restore.
  8. At last after four years of hard work and good fun it's nearly there, took the wee beasty out for its first shakedown road run today rather later than I hoped due to a week spent in Normandy .Clutch needs to be slightly adjusted along with the brakes . After missing Wartime in the vale I hope that it will be at Welland by the end of July just need to get more miles on her.

  16. With an early serial number that truck was made under the first contract T 7729 Managed to get a few hours working on finishing the rear body ready for paint.
  17. Hi all Am starting to think about the mw's bonnet markings etc I have the size at 3 1/2" x 2" inches but would like to know what style if any was used before I make the stencils. Cheers RR.
  18. Having got towards the final coat of paint stage any thoughts on the type and size of font to use for the bonnet number plus I have seen photo's of early mw's in France with the number stencilled on the side of the rear body as well but not sure if I'll add them there.
  19. Bit of a bitsa day today swapped out the suspect dizzy for a later version which has improved the running of the engine no end, then swapped the generator for a rebuilt unit which worked ok which will allow me to replace the bearings in the original unit. My good friend Colin Dix had turned me 50 oversize new nuts to match some of the existing ones on the truck so they were fitted to the off side rear body hinges etc. Continued to work on the latches for the trap door but ran out of time so still more to do, must remember the camera next time :-D
  20. I have some for my MW but haven't fitted them yet as I'm still fettling things and need the access.
  21. Thanks for the info Chris, yes I'd like to replace the missing cover if you could find one that would be great :-D
  22. Had a good morning moooching around the auto jumble at Ross on wye and found what might be a bit of kit used in charging batteries Seems in good nick just missing one bakelite cover. Then started on the trap door catches.
  23. Came across this interesting bit of kit. I think it could be used for charging a series of batteries for radios etc ? It seems in good cond just one Bakelite cover missing. Does anyone know more details about it please.
