  1. Could be worse... it could have been someone who you really hated beforehand & he could have been flying in a real warbird... none of that modern nonsense :naughty:   :yay:
  2. Going back though this one again at the moment. Highlights the MASSIVE amount of training that went into getting a bomber crew into the air... with a very short life expectancy... the terrible waste.
  3. Whilst repainting the rear bed of the Dodge I found about 15 spent .38 shells wedged down in the gap between the floor & the side
  4. lick o' paint... pair o' jump leads... have it running in no time  some hellish corrosion going on there

  6. Oh I do like to drive along the prom, prom, prom
  7. I think it's supposed to be a Stug Assault Gun. If i can get the cogs spinning in my moday morning brain... i think it was built on an extended APC chassis 432? It, (or one very like it was a W&P a few years ago). If you look closely you can see that the spare track links on the left are fibreglass or wood and are stuck on and provide the vision slots for the driver! Still an impressive peice of kit when you satnd next to it though!
  8. That's the one Clive. Sadly it's beyond my pocket to take it that far I'm afraid & can't get the time off work. but it's a great looking event and i definately want to support it even if it's just as a passenger.
  9. Nearly rammed one of those blinged up Range Rovers not long after I got the Dodge. Coming round a roundabout, the silly sod looked right at me (got me lights too) then pulls out right in front of me. He looked like he was going to have a heart attack when i was expressing my dissapointment at him ... missed him by inches, the tool :police:
  10. A Spoonerism of Dodge Beep...erm that's it :dunno:
  11. A really nice 1944 Colemans 2 burner stove complete with box & instructions... 'The vehicular model' according to the instructions... runs great, very chuffed... Although i did set fire to meself practicing getting it to light :n00b: A 1944 'On Leave in London' guide for servicemen including all the best nightclubs and restaurants, also includes some racy pics... ooh err. & the complete Granada TV Sherlock Holmes on DVD chuffin' brilliant a good turn out in all :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

  18. The whole thing has been a f**kup from start to finish. The complete lack of professionalism and impartiality that was displayed at the execution itsself has just handed all his followers the 'ammunition' they need to convince themselves he was a martyr and victim of a kangaroo court. Rather than a cold, considered, objective meeting out of justice it seems more like they just strung him up from a lamp post... A very poor demonstration of 'justice' in my opinion
  19. In terms of MV stuff... Attending the last official reunion of the Burtonwood Base crews in the summer. Took part in a convoy taking them from Blackpool front to the event. Then being asked if i'd take a few of them up the road whilst a film crew interviewed them in the back for local TV. It was a great honor and a thrill to meet these guys. They all thanked me for the opportunity to ride again in an "Ammo Carrier" as they called it. I said that it was I who should be thanking them. Truly humbled by their humility. One of them at the end of the interview said that I drove the Dodge like a Sergeant! I had to ask if that was a good thing or a bad one! Apparently it was a good thing... well that's what he told me :-D Non MV stuff Lily my daughter who's 2... she makes me smile and laugh every day  & finding out that no. 2 will arrive at the end of feb

  23. To accomodate the blackout light which moved from riding piggyback on the early ones above the drivers side headlight , hence symetrical looking brush guards, to the later lop-sided-ones where the blackout light is next to the drivers sidelifgt/convoy light. early http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://idata.over-blog.com/0/10/24/54/historique/dodgewc55towc52-3.jpg&imgrefurl=http://dodgewc52.over-blog.com/article-754059.html&h=405&w=600&sz=90&hl=en&start=5&tbnid=6P3qBxn8mjiCPM:&tbnh=91&tbnw=135&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwc55%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DG late http://images.google.co.uk/imgres?imgurl=http://www.o5m6.de/Dodge%2520WC51%2520Front_cut.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.o5m6.de/dodge_wc51.html&h=607&w=729&sz=47&hl=en&start=39&tbnid=AYI4Om5DXQIJ-M:&tbnh=117&tbnw=141&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dwc51%26start%3D36%26ndsp%3D18%26svnum%3D10%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26sa%3DN
