  5. :whistle: ok it has a deep wading screen fitted so its fresh off the beach and its towing a17pdr anti tank gun the crew will be standing on the side lockers as the top of the vehicle ends below the blackline rectangle on the front airfix did a conversion in there Crusader book 1/32 and Accurate Armour do a 1/35 check there site for pics

  8. could be refering to the kangeroos ie de frocked Priests and Ram tanks with the turret removed and bench seating they were used in op Goodwood etc
  9. ;-) We had to mix it down with petrol but it was about 10 years old by the time the QM would let it out of stores before Elf nSafty though I dont think it helped the IRR but it got us through PRE inspections came out matt but a bit of petrol n oil mix gave a lovely finnish for about a week

  13. :-( I saw these Dingos in 1977 lined up against a hedge the stering wheels had been smashed and I was told the sumps were drained where they stood with the engines running till they seized at that time all the tin work was intact and the seats were still ok but the batterys had disintrigrated. the yard also had several QLRs in mint condition .price for the Dingos £500. oh how I wish I had bought it now. :cry:
  14. Oh 101 are air portable with full Rapier kit you just strip off the canvas and tie everything down I have even done a hot evacuation in a Herc with a DN181 towed by my 101

  17. I searched hi and low for a Quad near me Southend and eventualy went as far as leeds in the advert. Turns out he lived in leeds but kept the vehicle 2 miles from me Fate????? :goodidea:
  18. :-D Its easy in this time of defence cuts so much money is used up on the ranges now all you do is lay in front of the target and a big felt tip pen hits it when you fire aka a protracting pencil. Ill get my coat! :-D
  19. :oops: This is where i get a red face but all the time we had series 3s the wing mirrors were bolted on to a steel arm bl++dy usles if you over tightend them but both these have the 90/110 type or is it just my memory fading?

  21. Decided not to change the brake pads yet as i cant find a supplier nearby. But I do need to replace/rebuild the brake cylinders as I think they may have been contaminated so reading the Manual it dosn`t look that difficult. So go on tell me what pitfalls await the unwarey? and what Brake fluid do you recomend? :-D
