  1. look at it this way, you spend £1800 to buy it and take a chance ,if it goes pear shaped and needs another £5000 spent on it,it would still only stand you at £7000 and it would be fixed, that's how i'd look at it if i was going to take a chance.
  2. i thought somebody might like that mortar by the way check the militaria section for a bargain or two i saw a panzerfaust for £25 not long ago
  3. cheers phil i'll try it on my next thread but if i come up with some dodgy ukranian porn site as my link i'm holding you responsible.(it might be interesting to see how many views it would get though) cheers eddy
  4. hi fella's it's not for me as i've got my heart set on something from ww2,but i gotta admit it's tempting.an ot 64 for under £1800 would tempt anyone
  5. hi folks not sure if this thread should be here or on classifieds but i think it's relevant to trackies as much as anyone else. how do you fancy a krug radar m for £12000 or a tracked amphib pts for under £3000 or a tracked missile carrier for £3500,there's even an ot 64 for £1800 negotiable. It really is a great site .can't do a link i'm afraid maybe someone a bit more technical could do it for us,go to google type"allegro.pl" when the search page comes up,allegro should be at the top, click on the" translate this page" option this will take you to the allegro home page,go down the categories list on the left and click on" automotive" then on the next page click" cars" then on the next page scroll down to near the bottom of the page and click" military" which is in the specials list, then sit back and figure out how to get to poland and back without the missus knowing.by the way the exchange rate is 4.55 ztl to the pound. all the best eddy
  6. very nice ,should keep you busy for a while, any idea when it will be ready for the road and is that a l/r ser 3 chassis it's sitting on. all the best eddy
  7. Nice bit of heavy engineering, looks like a well set up workshop you've got there,There's not many things that are more satisfying than having everything that you know you'll need to hand,it's like your own little empire. well that's how i always thought of it, although it does make me think twice about what's really involved in a tank restoration.new oil filters and a coat of red lead is just not gonna cut it. cheers eddy
  8. fascinating stuff thanks clive.it just goes to show what's still out there for those that are prepared to go and find it. all the best eddy
  9. thanks jim Excellent post i'm sure i speak for all when i thank you for taking the time to reply. many thanks eddy p.s. anymore "stuff" lying around your kneck of the woods
  10. hi folks just read on another forum that the turret went to kennet valley at war trust,so good news it might be on public display where it belongs. regards eddy
  11. I too was going to reply to adrian with the same answer as steve but felt it rather churlish and so i took the moral high ground not wanting to engage in such tit for tat antics. It is quite clear to anyone with even a small amount of knowledge on the churchill that a mk4 75 mm and a mk 6 are completely different, one has weldy bits on the turrety thing with cones on and the other has enlarged holes in the barrel for plate access(to allow feeding of the crew when hull down).I hope this clears up any confusion. regards eddy ps. steve i owe you yet another pint
  12. hi jim sorry i couldn't put a link in for you, but computers aren't my strong point but if you type in tank hulks on youtube it will come up, you'll also find out where all the range targets went! happy new year eddy
  13. embarrassed by my own lack of knowledge yet again, damn this forums tough on newbies
  14. hi fella's Sorry to be predictable but it would be a mk4 churchill with applique armour and a 75mm gun,(got my eye on one). However if i had an endless supply of cash i'd get some other lunatic to recover/restore it. happy new year eddy
  15. hi rob there's a youtube video of iow wrecks with a 17 pdr gun carriage on display in what looks like a patio area.Just type in "tank hulks"and it will come up at 4.44 mins.I wonder if this is the one you mentioned certainly looks like it came off a range. beats a b&q water feature any day. cheers eddy
  16. hi fella's Can't take the credit for the info on the tortoise, i just did what everyone else does and asked steveo578 who told me the history and i just posted it on the warrelics forum(busted). happy new year all eddy
  17. god ! that video takes me back to my class 1 course,6 months of death by monosyllibic technical video/view foil presentations(living the dream).by the way good point with regard to the brakes, sorry but i can't help though as i'm afraid all the ones i saw were all v.o.r. awaitng back loading so didn't get to work on them

  22. no problem i could tell you, but then i'd have to kill you.
  23. yeah i hadn't thought of that one,but i didn't want to be too unrealistic they might think i was just kidding around.
  24. To be fair i think they don't deserve the bad rep they have with squaddies but once something gets branded crap it gets passed on from one generation to another, that's just how it is. all the best eddy
