  3. mike if it is px switch and not master cyl u can just unscrew the switch depending on new switch contacts u might have to crimp on new terminals my orig was held on with screws new one had spade connectors no need to drain anything i lost hardly any fluid , still reckon it might be your master cyl sticking though!

  5. ended up fitting nos rad ass but i bet u could get new valve from richard bannister now after a very good run once sytem cooled down it might take quarter of pint versus before new valve couple of pints! run your ferret for a good twenty mins at least get it nice and hot have your hand over rad outlet makes from temp rise you can feel thermostat has opened run for another ten mins turn eng off, wait twenty mins ish and carefully release rad cap u should with valve operating correctly hear a release of pressure .be ready though to put cap back on quickly if coolant wants to come out as well as pressure realease!!!!

  12. tony u could try one of those paintsripper hot air guns, splinned extractors were designed for removing sheared cyllinder head studs and similar good thing about them is u can drive the spline deep into the drilled stud important with all these devices is to use coorect drill size.
  13. if u pm me address will send u some snap on easy outs and drills.
  14. best way up on stands underneath hull not suspension would not want to have springs compressed for 5 months batts disconected wheel corners all greased up ,fluid levels to full, silica dessicant in fighting compartment, put batts on a optimate device will give a charge as required, check antifreeze ratio ,you could be really keen and every month turn engine with starting handle as well.
  15. i reckon on my ferret i will do about 400 to 500 miles a year in it.about 350 ish in fuel as you say no road tax ,insurance 100 quid, no mot fee, better than a prius!!(toyota):-D
  16. one thing when refiting master cyl get pipe union started before bolting up master cyl can be a bit of a pig to get union started and you dont want to cross thread it!
  17. hi mike N is as far as i know not wired at all from memory when my ferret was having similar problems no matter where i left switch if there was pressure in system brake lights would be on . once i had charged up batteries i left them dissconrcted till master cylinder was overhauled . i tried a new brake stitch as well at first but that was not at fault master cylinder comes off pretty easy. paul.
