  1. I did some volunteer work on the one that was left in Perth. It was originally at the airport entrance then moved to the Bullcreek Aviation museum late 70's. http://www.raafawa.org.au/museum/avro-lancaster#!Lancaster_14_19 A lot of errors in the website. No mention of its French Maritime service and the black and white shot I believe is at the original location at the airport as you can just see the Mosquito on the left, which as far as I recall rotted away. edit... the original post of Lancaster WU16 is the one now in the museum over here
  2. My Pinzgauer mate came back with this: "Butt Weld Panel Clamps.....get the blue ones if you can, I've found them to be the best. Strangely enought I see Hare and Forbes sell them (they usually sell the cheaper tools) http://www.machineryhouse.com.au/W113" I'd never seen them before he showed me
  3. "long term project", this will be something novel as your restorations are super fast..........yes I am jealous :-D
  4. After the discussion on Cleco's or skin pins for holding to be riveted sections together, I thought you might be interested in these gadgets. Mate of mine uses these ones on his restoration to hold thin sheet metal together for butt welding.
  5. These are very good for what they are.... Do an excellent job. I do like those hydraulic ones also as before when I first looked they were very expensive
  6. Very Nice..... I wanted to buy an old BSA when I was in Malaysia but it was heavily molested
  7. Another reason for the sense of relief was that the soviets were closing and demanding borders be shut with any German caught on their side going to gulags or................ I read this book about a year ago and lots of information in it I was unaware of https://www.amazon.com/After-Hitler-Second-World-Europe/dp/1848544960 Pretty sure a lot of Germans got trapped in Czechoslovakia
  8. not sure..... popped up on a mates Facebook. I was thinking the US because of the massive building in some of the shots, but could be somewhere else, given they are all green. What I think strange is there is several companies that upgrade M113's by stretching them and adding an extra bogie, armour etc. You would think they would be kept in storage until that demand fizzled out
  9. I think as they slowly replace them with the AMPV this is just their de-mil program as there is not many M113's in civilian ownership
  10. Saw these pictures on a mates facebook........ tearjerkers
  11. Nothing is a surprise with these guys, nothing but pen pushing, know nothing bureaucrats.

  16. What about those off the shelf tank liner paints, can they be purchased in ethanol resistant types? At least you wouldn't have to do the cleaning step as that is the most labour intensive part.
