  1. From what I gathered they may have followed the mine clearing tank? It might have broken down after which the vehicles passed it and drove on mines? But ofcourse, good and reliable info is hard to obtain.
  2. The future for us Dutch people, just crank it up and ride out the high water...
  3. Maybe Canadian? https://www.cdnmilitarycollectors.com/t80-ww-ii-canadian-helmets
  4. I don't recognise the flash. Interesting though. The strap looks grey rather than sandcolour, maybe post-war strap? Outside brown colour is also a bit weird. It looks like the brown colour has been painted after a lot of wear of the original paint. Maybe re-used after the war?
  5. Aren't the US and French different in its electronics?
  6. Enigma

    Cletrac MG.

On Weasels (M29) heavy dute conveyer belts are being used, sometimes combined with steel wire. But if that's strong enough for a M2?
  7. I had a balancing problem. The tyre centre (Profile car& tyreservice, Netherlands) used some sort of liquid inside the tyre for balancing. Cost a fortune (90 euro! for 2 wheels) but it worked.
  8. I met him in 2016 in Eindhoven. Rest in peace Joe.
  9. Terrapin, a good example of weird and wonderful engineering.
  10. We used to go every year. But it got smaller and less interesting and with Brexit it would make it more of a hassle to come over. So, hopefully next year I'll go to A&E again.
  11. In ye olden days we cleaned brass shells with a salt and vinegar mix. IIRC it seemed to work.
  12. I also like the MG gunners display.
  13. The camo tanksuit is indeed a topic of contention. However, I have 1 of those and love the looks of them. I sometimes were the tan tanksuit which is a good uniform to wear.
  14. Where are these signs located?
  15. Helmets This could be a bit helpful; https://view.officeapps.live.com/op/view.aspx?src=https%3A%2F%2Fgermanhelmetvault.com%2Fwp-content%2Fuploads%2F2022%2F05%2FLotnr-researchGHV2022.xls&wdOrigin=BROWSELINK

  17. Excellent idea to install a plug for a charger/start leads. It may avoid a lot of grief in the future. Well done.
  18. Short introduction; In my village in the Netherlands in late April 1945 2 British Royal Marines went missing. (Ernest W. Cooper and Geoff Albert Johnson) Not far away 1 unknown Royal Marine is buried with the same date of the missing ones. So a easy project!? My brother started this project about 10-12 years ago with help from 1 of the missing relatives as well as others from our village and more people. CWGC doesn't exhume for DNA even if a relative asks. Only paperwork is accepted. So, instead of a easy identification it takes a lot of effort and research. NEWS NEWS NEWS; The CWGC has approved the paperwork so the unknown soldier will be getting his name back and a new stone. His name will also be added as a KIA on a big memorial plaque in our village, also initiated by my brother. He isn't on it because at the time of unveiling the monument it was not proven he went missing in our municipality. His name is Geoff Albert Johnson, 30 Royal Marines. Welcome back Geoff and rest in peace.
  19. I like that you made a special crate so it looks authentic, plus less clutter.
  20. I see a suspicious looking white van on the right........
  21. I guess the show is basically dead? A pity, I enjoyed going there to see the displays, battles, stalls and meeting up with friends. Guess after brexit it would be a lot of extra hassle for me coming over from the Netherlands anyway. Still, I have a lot of fun there. Who knows what the future holds, maybe a European version? Or you rejoin the EU?...but lets not open that can of mines.😅
