  1. Dear John Pearson, I'll certainly have a look regarding your Alvis number questions, but as far as I'm aware these are not on any of the Saracen plates. Just to advise and clarify that these were 'not' recovered from the ranges, but originated from from a private engineer's workshop who purchased approxmately 500 Saracens, over 250 Ferrets, all the Shorlands & the last 89 Saladins from MoD. Regards, Brandone

  3. Right, I've just grabbed three randomly from the box and gave them a quick clean so I could get some photos. I'll get a list on the complete box and advise back shortly. Here are the three examples: Car Scout 4x4 Liaison Mk1 Cont. No. 6/FV/4267 Vehicle No. 34 BA 46 Armoured Carrier 6x6 Personnel Mk1 Cont. No. 6FV2979 Vehicle No. 31 BA 13 Combat Vehicle Reconnaissance (W) Fox (FV721) Mk1 Type G Cont. No. FVP-1/71 Vehicle No. 04 SP 32
  4. I've just been clearing out a workshop/garage & stores, and found a box of approximately 15-20 brass data plates from various vehicles with the original MoD registration numbers stamped on them. Will these be of interest to restorers/collectors or are they just scrap metal, as they are all brass? Vehicles plates include: Saracens, Saladins, Stalwarts, Ferrets, Snow Cats & a few more which I haven't identified yet.
  5. Hi there, What was your question or purpose for finding out? I know the person who brought some Panhards into the UK from the French Army with an AMX-13. I can put you in touch if helps? Kind regards, Brandon
  6. Hi there, I can confirm 100% with guarantee that these Saladins came from Oman. I hope this helps with your research. Was there anything else you were trying to ascertain on these? brandone
  7. Hi All, Not a great to say right now, but I hope to participate with comms and sharing/finding information that can help everyone out on here. I've been invloved with military vehicles and equipment for over 30 years on and off. Tinkering with an old Willys MB at present. Cheers.
  8. What are the chances of obtaining some original aluminium data plates for a Saracan and a Saladin? Am I being way too optimistic or would there be any advice of where to hunt some down? Any idea for 'top and bottom' prices that might be expected for these? Nothing on ebay either. All advise is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
