  1. I can only confirm that, I fitted QL rim to my WOT8, and have one from CMP Ford, they are all the same.... Barry Ring offers new 10,50x20" T-grip repro tyres or you can fit 11-20" bar grips if you can find any.
  2. I have these two pictures from the internet. On the period upper picture you can see the brush and cup. The last picture shows the 180gall bowser equipment from the manual, you can see the cup there too.
  3. I doubt that it is SCC15 as I think the Olive drab is darker and was first introduced in April 1944 whilst these tins showed up in 1943. I may be wrong but I think it is closer to the Khaki Green G3 which was used in early war years.
  4. Hi, yes these are authentic WWII tins for percussion caps used in different types of booby trap switches, time pencils etc. The caps are used to light up an instagenous fuse, cordtex or safety fuse or can be put into a detonator like No.27 and.then inserted into a plastic explosive like Nobel 808, PE No.2 etc... Often used by the SOE but also by sappers. The tins themselves are not very rare, unlike the caps. Here with the No.2 MkII pressure switch example.
  5. It is Fordson WOT8 not 6. And as the number on the doors does not start with "L" and there is no unit sign, it is probably in Dutch service.
  6. and the float. The seller thinks it is cork inside but as the manual states wooden float I think there might be some light wood inside like balsa ?
  7. There was a nice set of spares for water bowser for sale on one of the FB groups. The seller stated post-war, but in my opinion the strainer and float are the same pattern as WWII. Unfortunately someone was faster then me and the set sold. The seller was kind enough to send me some pictures with a messure of the above items and was ok for me to share these. I wonder if the mag and the scoop are WWII pattern for water purrifying chemicals?
  8. For some reason the aliexpress links do not work when copied but found the same lamp on ebay here for double the price of aliexpress though: https://www.ebay.com/itm/373308000163?hash=item56eae407a3:g:jvEAAOSwd0RhNb1W I attached the picture of the lamp in case the link did not work either. With the rear lights, it is better to go for safety first and mount non-original bigger lights to be seen on todays roads, one need to consider that our trucks are slow and camouflaged. These have steel housing and are LED. Nothing for purists but as I wrote, safety first here 😉
  9. The original light set up for WOT6 is pictured in this thread: The original lights were ok for dimming during the war but not sufficient today, I think that`s what REME 245 had in mind. A friend bought these chinese LED lights for his Bedford and they look great. Steel housing and very good illumination. Cheap too. Have no indicators so these would need to be fitted extra. The link seems not to be working so go to www.aliexpress.com and search for Taillight For Harley 883 Sportster Dyna Cafe Racer Bobber Custom Brake Stop Tail Light (variant in black housing) With the pick-axe mount I have the same on my WOT8, same round one, so that must be original. There could have been more pick-axe variants perhaps.
  10. Hi Rob, I have the drawing of the aiming post. Will PM you.
  11. I think the sieve might be too rough for the smaller lumps and you need to filter the paint through something finer. I use nylons and it works just fine. (don`t tell your wife and hide the leftovers well 😄) Or buy a proffesional paint filter.
  12. Would this one fit? https://www.vintagecarparts.co.uk/products/867-window-lift-channel
  13. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/AEC-MATADOR-SCAMMELL-14-00-x-20-TYRES/124405471581?hash=item1cf724d95d:g:TGgAAOSw6AhfgiDz
  14. Nice find, congratulations. Recently I was watching some IWM videos and there were few with Dennis tippers, see here from about 0:50 minute mark: https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/1060008462 also a nice one here: https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/1060019478 and one more here: https://www.iwm.org.uk/collections/item/object/1060019512 Good luck with the resto, last year there was one Dennis for sale on this forum, do some reasearch.
  15. WOT6 engine cover for comparison, pictures saved from the internet. You could contact forum member Tom Watts who restored WOT6
  16. No, the WOT8 has a different engine cover and dash setup.
  17. The gearbox is a standard Ford V8 flathead one, so probably original part of your Fordson. There should be a an air compressor mounted on the right side.
  18. Good job on the cab. Following this thread with great interest as I will be going through that all on my WOT8 project. My cab virtually collapsed and lots of panels will need to be replicated. https://rotanazdar.cz/?p=7815 Keep going your good work!
  19. It seems your truck still keeps its original gearbox. It is a standard type Ford gearbox as below I think parts and bearings can be obtained at Macs for instance: https://www.macsautoparts.com/ford_mercury_early/transmission-and-driveline.html/?location=home_featured&crosssell=Homepage_Featured_Category_Transmission+%26+Clutch Just for your interest the WOT8 has the same gearbox with so called "remote control" - a tower like extension for the gear stick.
  20. Better visible here without the plate on my friends WOT8
  21. This the the bracket on my WOT8. It is a screw going through the rectangular plate to the round base.
  22. One thing that puzzles me a lot is this bracket. What is it for? Have not found the answer in any of my manuals. Anybody?
  23. Hi Seamus, great project you have there. On my WOT8 there is the cab number on a plate riveted to the cab rear crossmember behind the seats. It may have been changed on WOT6s though. I also have a little plate with Chassis contract number in front of the passenger. Look for the manual below (mine issued in 1945) as it is very detailed and contents a short section on Machinery equipment. Good luck with your project and looking foward to seeing any progress. P.S. this thread shows some engine conversion on WOT6
