  1. nice one martin your advice certainly cheered me up.
  2. Hi is the MW still for sale and if so how much do you want. kind regards Z Andy
  3. Hi the large pipe feeds the turbo the small one feeds the injector pump the vacant hole is for the combined oil pressure gauge and oil pressure warning lamp sender unit. If you cant find one just put a standard oil pressure switch in. Good luck Andy
  4. Perkins P6 288cu in straight six indirect injection diesel engine.sorry i did not think.I thought every one new what a P6 was. This conversion is a very tight fit and uses the original 4 speed crash box whith the correct conversion bellhousing as used in the early bedford O model. From inside the cab and externally you would not know, until you start the engine. It is pretty noisy. To fit anything bigger would be a chopping excercise and not my scene. If you need any more info let me know Andy
  5. Hi i have just been reading your thread and thought you may be interested to know i have a QL, that i fitted a P6 into and have had it on the road for about 25 years, good luck with the restoration andy
  6. Hi Andy, I have been viewing your 969 on Stormin's showthread. I congratulate you on a stunning restoration. Okay so it took 17 years but it must be a most satisfying result.

How was Normandy, were there any teething problems?

As you know I am looking at getting the 980 done in just a few years (although the completion date is continually slipping). If work allows I am currently looking at late next year for the first show outing. There are plenty of events within 10 miles of Stroud so no excuse not to get out and about.

You will be pleased to know that the scuttle and cab were re-united last Friday, a dry assembly only, but they mated up very well. The doors are currently being re-skinned and hopefully we are looking at getting the top coat on within a few weeks. The cab and winch should be lifted back onto the chassis late summer or early autumn leaving me to then concentrate on the bonnet and radiator.

    Speak soon,

    A

  7. great restoration we met at astle park last sunday im the guy with the diamond t 969 wrecker, thats taken 17 years to restore .your steaming ahead by my standards, its taken me all week to find your thread ,computers are not my scene.you have got lots more patience than i have,i would be to eager to get the engine running and forget to take photos.my advice would be to keep up the pace while your still keen and dont buy anything else untill you finnish your present resto.unlike myself keep up the good work andy
  8. Nice to hear from you Andy, and well done on getting the 969 on the road. Distractions are a constant problem! I have found that my initial predictions on getting the 980 completed were way off. Work has had a big hand in it as I do travel a bit more of late (completley wrote off December and January), but mates asking for help can aslo ruin a weekend! As you can see from the blog the cab has required a bit more than first predicted but all the rot no matter how small has been removed and in a few weeks it will have a cab which I think will be better than new. If you can please send/post some detailed pics of the 969. Cheers, A (p.s. did you sell all your parts advertised in the greensheet?)

  9. Hi Adrian after 17 years my 969 hit the road and after all the work i was very pleased and surprised it ran great and nothing fell of and every thing works,my advice to anyone restoring any vehicle is concentrate on one vehicle at a time and dont get side tracked and buy something else like i did. good luck with the 980 and keep in touch Andy
