Am i correct , pigs should be on baor be deep bronze green gloss ? think it has been asked before , on cleaning the wheels and nuts up , the wheel nuts should be white and the split rim nuts should be red? is this right ..... and does anyone have a correct looking number 6 for the weight plate . thanks jamie

i managed to get a hold of 3 spares , all part worn but servicable , the last wheels shoyld be ready for collection tomorrow , time and work permitting jamie

wheels stripped , rims cleaned , surprising, just how much rust has formed on the inside, used a 9" angle grinder with a wire cup wheel toclean the rust and a sds hammer drill with a chisle tonrumove the stuborne bits , could not have removed the tyre s myself , tryed failed, so went to the local agri tyre fitter who pressed them off supplied new flaps and tubes and rebuilt for £65 a tyre , which i thought was very resonable , considered that he stripped the tyre i took it way , cleaned it and returned them to him to work his magic. Next to do get rid of the awful crap sand paint and get it ready for a coat of deep bronze green ,

Job cancelled today so up to field i went with a big drum of anti freeze , and the sun in the sky , opened both drain cocks on the rad and block , got out some brown gundgy water then clean blue anti freeze, let the lot drain out ,then stuck the hose in the filler cap to flush the whole system through. Whilst doing that stripped off the thermostat housing cover , and boiled the kettle to have a brew and then test the thermostat, brew done poured the kettle over the thermostat , with hose removed and down it went , closed when left to cool and opened again , with another brew, resembled the housing , hoses, closed the cocks and filled it up with a 50% mix. Tightened up the fan belts that were so loose i could pull the fan round with little effort . Let the engine run up to temperature and idle , sat the purring away to its self , no drips , no leaks , no overheating . Strange one but now onto the tyres and rims jamie

Yes Clive , the filler is on the right hand side (passenger) , and to be honest didnt look on the left will do asap, i didnt have time to tighten or look too close , thanks Clive . jamie

Got the pig fired up today and out into the sunshine idleing as usual when noticed a drip from underneath , antifreeze , opened the bonnet hatch to see coolant spweing from the filler cap , never done this before , thought head away and did a water test to see if it was and luckly its sound , however the fan belts were loose could it be that ive just overfilled it and its just slipping on the pully ideling giveing no coolant circulation . and in the winter clear out it seems that ive lost my manual and workshop manual , cant seem to find where i got them before ? any help pleases jamie

Clive , with both the drain plug and filler threads i taped them up with gaffa tape to save the threads , but even after it set there was still a bit of sealant that had found its way in , a dental pick and a brazing rod soon shifted it out , not a problem really Jamie

Eve all, just spotted this thread , and can strongly recomend the tank repair kit from frost , having carried out a full refubishment on both my humber pig tanks saved a lot of time , money and hassle Both tanks had been left with there caps open allowing water or perhaps condensation to collect , the insides were rusty , mouldy and i thought my pig would be a right off with no fuel tanks Following the instructions on the frost website is crucial and if you take your tine you will not be dissapoointed , just one thing make sure the insides are bone dry , i left mine to sit a couple if weeks in a boiler room to totally dry out , if you miss this point your wasting your time and money. It sealed a leaking edge and numerious pinholes that only became apparent with the cleaning process The sealer is runnier than you would think and gets into all the nooks and crannies , over under and cotes the baffels as well. Soooo what do i do then in relation to getting rubber on the rims ........... if tyres are unavailable .......?

ANYONE CAN I USE 12x20.00 tyres

tyres have been looking and the may be at there end of life the size is 11x20.00 , but seen some from vass that are 12x20.00 will they fit or where can i get tyres for the pig , i know bar grips are unoptainable jamie on his phone sorry about the pinctuation

Both front windscreen hatches and driver and passenger door looks like the were hacked off sometime ago and glass fitted in the holes see pictures at the start page 1 Jamie

New filter housing sorted , fitted and working New steering wheel fitted and most important rear compartmentlight fixed, isnt amazing how you get side tracked As my pig never had any hatches fitted when i got it , been toying with the idea of fabricating something similar maybe of lighter steel any suggestions? i cant copy and paste for some reason but from that blue light website , you can use amber lights to warm others you are there . matt green vehicles , small military lights , i know that when i take my pig out it will have an amber beacon on it . jamie

if you loved bacon grill , well who didnt, lidl's have a bacon grill which is almost identical to rat pack issue as i remenber jamie
