  1. This appears to be the 7th Edition from May 2017. It is interesting the changes - at least now I know which oil to use, as for a while I was questioning my purchase!
  2. That is what was confusing me Clive. AESP 2320-D-128-601 Maintenance Schedule states OX90. I bought some SAE 10W-40 diesel oil from Mannol which I assume will do the same job. It does not meet the E7/E6 ACEA but not many seem to unless you get really expensive. I cannot imagine the 300TDI even with EGR requires specialist oils. Thanks Paul
  3. Thanks for the help. Yes, it is somewhat confusion. I think I will take the NYE Lube chart as the more accurate of the two. At least with SAE 10W-40 I have some in the workshop! It also corresponds to the civilian recommendation for the 300TDI
  4. As it has come to the inevitable time to change the oil on the Wolf90 I consulted the AESP and it seems OX90 is the oil of preference. This code is new to me and I am unsure what exactly the civilian spec of the oil grade would be. The internet doesn't seem to know?
  5. If you lift the camouflage cover up on the left side of the vehicle, does it still have a drawing of a cat's bottom? Might sound weird, but it was on the vehicle originally so I added it back on. It would seem the phrase the 'dog's bol****' means good in English slang, but the 'cat's ar**' means something is bad. The Snatch was not so popular with solider, so likely added on in Iraq 🤣 Original history of the vehicle
  6. I wonder why they took the sides and door off - was it a vehicle to be used for parts or did someone want the scrap cost? Last I knew it went to Scotland when I sold it, that would have been the third owner, I was the second. Neil (I forget his name, but he was on here) from Plumpton, East Sussex, I think was the first? I might be wrong with that, but from memory I am 80% sure - it was 20 years ago. It was 100% complete. Radio mounts inside and out, fire suppression system in from and rear with 2 large canister in the centre front cab. Window mesh, front screen mesh raised with wire (similar to Snatch). I will try and see if I have more photographs, but alas in 2001 I was not really taking as many I would now. This HVVPK was, if I remember correctly, featured in a 2001 issue of Military Machines International over around 6 pages with another example. I did also have this copy, which I shall try and locate for you - I am mid-move into a new house so might be a while. Paul
  7. To follow up on this for future reference, you can register vehicles imported from the UK in Germany post Brexit. It is complicated, but not too stressful. You will require the MOD Cast form, import forms with paid duty proof from Zoll. The certificate of conformation is not such a drama, as you can have a proofing 'TUV' test, which costs more, but covers this. You do require a 'Datenblatte' or data sheet from TUV Nord or Sud, which if they have this is not expensive. Then all can be registered as normal. If the TUV do not have the data sheet and you are the first to import a unique vehicle without certificate of conformity from manufacturer it could be come expensive as you will be required to submit the vehicle for testing of emissions, weights, noise, etc. If I can help anyone in the future, please contact me
  8. WOW! But oh my, what a mess. Where has the rest gone? I am unsure what the Emergency Service part is about? Do you have the missing parts as part of the deal?
  9. I actually got this straight away! but was beaten to it!
  10. Hello, I have an issue I am trying to resolve in regards to Trousers, DPM, Combat being issued around 1999-2001. "Trousers, DPM, Combat, Lightweight" which are abundant on eBay/for sale are not the same ones I was issued back in 1999-2001, they are much thinner and lighter in weight. The first issue of DPM trousers as field wear were ripstop material the same as the windproof ones that occasionally come for sale with the Velcro split on the outer calf of the legs which I think were labelled as "Trousers, DPM, Temperate, Combat, Ripstop". I even recall a more heavyweight version of these as "Trousers, DPM, Temperate, Combat" which also appear to have disappeared, but were a thicker more cotton like fabric Trousers, DPM, Temperate, Combat, Ripstop. I think this was the first issue of Soldier 2000 clothing system. I would like to buy a pair or two of the ripstop ones, does anyone have any leads? Regards Paul
  11. I have just done the reverse. I would recommend RV Shipping, Wrexham. I would also recommend getting a customs agent as well, as this really does smooth the process over. They can deal with T1 form reference numbers, advanced customs totals and getting things in order and advanced payments of your duty. Depending on what you are importing you may require an EORI licence/account. Cost is dependant on if buying from a business or private customer, but usually it is your base VAT rate in the UK and most likely 10% import duty of total cost (inc shipping) - there could be concessions for historic vehicles. You will need the customs clearance forms to register the vehicle in future. Drop me a PM if I can help. Paul
  12. As far as I am aware the EU rule (Germany) is for a medical every 5 years from 45, then from 65 yearly to retain your C, C+E, D, D+E or C1 license. I personally think a medical to operate anything of such scale is a good idea and I am also subjected to this to retain my CPC and associated licenses. I am not sure anyone would declare themselves unfit for license so an external body, in my opinion, to check is but a good thing and can only improve safety. I am not saying this in an ageist stance, but from safety. I have known quite a few people to deteriorate fast within a 5 year period to not have their D class renewed, although they suggested otherwise. It is human nature to assume confidence in ones ability and seldom do people surrender a privilege such as a driving license.
  13. Hello, I am searching for a fire extinguisher for my Wolf but cannot find the correct Amerex 425(G) 2KG model that is fitted available within the EU. To have this posted from the UK is problematic, so was wondering if anyone has managed to get a nice snug and safe fit with another brand? I want this as a functional item, so colour is no problem as long as it fits in the correct vehicle holder. I look forward to replies Paul
  14. Yes, some Dodge 3/4 ton WC54 vehicles were indeed radio trucks. I cannot find the images I wanted, but I shall keep looking. I do however have an image from 1944 of a WC54 fitted with large speaker and antenna. I am a bit dis-organised as I am mid-move between houses. It is also possible your WC54 was repurposed post-war - although that is speculation as I have not seen it. I hope that helps. Paul
  15. Can anyone provide me with the NSN for this part, or a site with them for sale? The spacer between the antenna base and wing mounting plate. (Google Images, not my picture). Thanks Paul
  16. Thank you for the offer, Eddie. I will hold out for the moment to see if I can acquire the TUL rear panel. I know it is only cosmetic, but mine is just very worn. My issue is also postage and import to Germany, which is now a headache and added costs Thanks everyone for the advice, always appreciated.
  17. Thanks for the advice, Clive. I shall have to look in my pile of old parts, as I did have a 110 RadHaz many years ago, I wonder if I have the rear section? If one does not come up, I think I will go the modification route. Thanks Paul
  18. I cannot seem to find a new RAD HAZ kit for my 90. The current one is rather worn so would like to replace it, but the once abundance of these for sale seems to now not exist. Any leads for a new 90 kit?
  19. Hello, I was looking inside the ATU wing mounts on my Wolf90 and I discovered that it has an EMP protector inside. This wing mount has a different mounting hole pattern to the normal Bowman/Clansman ATU/antenna, so I was wondering what this is actually for? Is this standard equipment for lightning strikes, etc. Or is this related to ECM equipment or GPS? Thanks Paul
  20. I would give David Wildenberg a call at (please give him my regards) https://www.wildenbergparts.org/ He is very helpful and likely has it in stock. If not try these guys in France, they are also very helpful and they also have around 30+ GMC352/3s they are breaking. https://jeep-dodge-gmc.com I cannot help with a part number for the GMC as I gave my manuals away with my 353, but it does look very similar to a Dodge part https://jeep-dodge-gmc.com/smi/description/dodge/CC966707_NEW https://jeep-dodge-gmc.com/smi/description/jeep/WOA4300 You would need to find someone here who has a Dodge and GMC to confirm if the parts are the same, otherwise drop them an email as they usually have most things in stock.
  21. I would also be interested in peoples experiences. My 110 requires a new chassis and bulkhead at some stage in the future (1989 110) as for many years I have been chasing the rust around and replacing parts and it has come to the reality that if I want to use and preserve it a new chassis is the better option.
  22. They are legal in Germany until September 2024, which mitigates changing tyres until then. So my question is solved for now. Germany currently regard a tyre as all seasons with M+S on the sidewall prior to the three peaks snowflake coming in at the end of 2024. Thankfully Clive, once again, provided first hand data to support my query proving XZLs do have M+S stamped on the sidewalls, so all boxes ticked. Case closed. Thanks everyone
  23. Perfect thank you Clive (FV1609). At least I now know they do have M+S on the sidewalls, that's really helpful. Now I can be sure running them here in winter is, for now, legal as an all seasons tyre. Even the Mitchelin website doesn't state this, that's why I wanted a literal image. Perfect. Thanks Paul
  24. Thanks Citroman. That's where the confusion arises as other pages selling the tyres in Germany state "M+S". I was hoping someone with a Wolf/Snatch/WMIK outside could have a check on the actual tyre for me.
